A top story at capitol hill for Senate Republican leaders are postponing the vote on the bill to repeal interface obamacare until after the july 4th recess in hopes of rounding up enough support. Announcing the news, Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell insisted the repeal effort was far from over. Not be on the bill this week still working towards at least 50 people in a comfortable place. Legislation of this complicity almost always takes longer than anybody else would hope. We are going to press on. We think the status quo is unsustainable for all the reasons weve discussed over and over again. Were optimistic well get to a result better than the status quo. Maria later in the day gop senators huddled in talk about the path forward. For the country, we have to have health care. They cant be obamacare which is melting down. The other side is saying how certain things before they even knew what the bill was. This would be great if we get it done and if we dont get it done is just going to be something we are not going to like and thats okay and i understand that very well. Maria farmer eli is lowly health and Human Services deputy secretary. Good to see you, alex. Thanks for joining us. Maria, good to see you. Trying to tell us from your standpoint how they Health Care Bill took two tries to pass. This is the second for the senate. Is this part of the process or how do you see the spending bill . This is completely part of the process. You could release the bill in the cbo score coming this weekend it to a vote already. This is what ive been telling folks in washington. But the Republican Leadership has failed to do is articulate where they are trained to go. We know the problems the obamacare, but we havent done a good job explaining what we are trying to do with replacement and fixing it. Youre trying to basically comes from your conservative and moderate wings together. Get rid of the individual subsidy entitlement and Medicaid Expansion. They want to keep the Medicaid Expansion basically assays and create greater individual and state flexibility. A pretty wide gap, but i think they will thread the needle, give Mitch Mcconnell enough time. I think they can do it. Maria its exactly what Dagen Mcdowell just said. Transfer you want to point out the 22 million number was slightly higher in terms of the number of people will not have insurance in a decade. This is based on the current projection. Its because they choose not to buy it because these bills get rid of the individual mandate and the employer mandate, which is really hurt small businesses. I dont think that its about bill, but it is financially oriented. It is meant to fix the mushrooming problem that is medicaid, returning it for going to block grants for being an openended entitlement. It is about the finances. Its about cutting taxes in this country that have hamstrung businesses that have smaller businesses from hiring. In terms of messaging, people want more health care. They want Cheaper Health Care and they dont message on that. Alex, robert wolfe. How are you . I agree with you on the idea that theres a good chance to thread the needle here. It seems to be there or three buckets of naysayers. You have Something Like nevada was just a struggle for him but this upcoming election and 18. Then you have the other bucket of conservatives who want government out of the way. And then you have the other bucket but the moderate they care about planned parenthood, opioid abuse and medicaid going on whether its important to murkowski and so on. It seems to me as you change one, lets just say its easy to align with conservatives because thats what the house is. It makes it very difficult in my opinion how they hold the moderate together. How do you see that kind of, you know, negotiating not . So, the real gift to Mitch Mcconnell has is the cbo score gave him about 200 billion that saving about the house bill. That is really money he can play with under the reconciliation rules. What is going to happen over the next week and im sure they were already doing this is working with collins and cassidy and other moderate votes to see what can they do to shorten medicaid funding, may be scaled back this pope for federal matching cats and medicaid. Maybe opioid grants for caputo. Go through the list. Thats 200 billion there. I think the moderate side of this is easier to solve. The conservative side fundamentally a tribute to get rid of the Medicaid Expansion. This bill does not get rid of the Medicaid Expansion. It scales back the enhanced federal matching grants on the expansion and slows the rate of growth as a result of federal expenditure and medicaid. It also keeps and reaffirms a 350 federal Poverty Level individual subsidy for insurance. That is a tough pill to swallow for conservatives who just want straight repeal. Thats where its going to get difficult. Theres so much in your appealing a freemarket conservative is. Maria it is not cuts. Its slowing the growth. Youre at the white house earlier this week with the president. He spoke to Vice President mike pence a few weeks back. When you hear in the administration . Can you give us any interns at the white house this week . The white house and hhs can that people are optimistic. They thread the needle here. Its going to take time. This is historic legislation from a freemarket conservative is, which is you get the largest entitlement reform in the history of the republic with medicaid. He will put medicaid on a more sustainable footing Going Forward and empower states to run medicaid instead of an openended state of individual entitlement his states accountability and responsibility for managing the program. You are going to shore up the individual market collapsing under upon a care. You look at the cost sharing subsidies the next three years. We affirm some of the markets can call down about that. Lower premiums because you fixed the federal regulation screen of the individual market under obamacare. Maria that was an important point that the premiums will be downed in the double digits pretty significantly. You see a lot of volatility in the health care stocks, biotech etf is up 9 and three not days. What a vestige of people trying to trade every twist and turn of whats going on in washington . I would say dont. Dagen saari answered the question for you. If this legislation goes through, they will be important tax cuts coming for the pharmaceutical industry, device vendors re, will be really important. Betting on the timing of those than the size of those, it may be that the 200 billion that Mitch Mcconnell now has available to make deals with is enough. It may be that he needs more in which case maybe there is a one year further delay in the repeal of various taxes to create money. We dont know whats going to have to happen over the next couple weeks to bring the moderates on board and it may take more than a scott. Maria weve got more on that. If the media cant be trusted to report the news, thats a dangerous place to report in america. We have been going for the better part of a year now with no evidence of anything but this story gets covered day in and day and america is looking for Something Better, they are looking for something more and i think they deserve Something Better from news media. Maria three cnn employees were forced to resign and Huckabee Sanders said shes not sure this is enough. Joining us right now investigative journalist and author of the smear, fake news control what you see, what you think and how you vote. Cheryl atkison. What do you think about the cnn story, does cnn need to take further action on top of firing those three . Im not comfortable saying what they ought to do from a managerial standpoint, report after report after the past 18 months or so that turns out to be 180degrees wrong from respected news organizations, finally repercussion and action, ive been complaining about the fact that with misreporting with supposedly journalists and there havent been punishments with nothing happening which sends a signal to me that its okay to do that. Maria thats exactly right. Since the story first became the height that it has, there has been no evidence of any collusion between any of Donald Trumps campaign and the Russian Federal government and cnn has wall to wall coverage. We have to discloses that Anthony Scaramucci was a former contributor to the Fox Business Network and to fox news channel, i was actually with him in a meeting the other night when he first learned of the story. Look at the story that cnn is out. They have a picture. This is a 50 milliondollar lawsuit wait to go happen. Did they face threat, did they even get religion on it yet . Its hard to say what it was, on the one hand, they are very committed to the critical posture they have taken against President Trump. They think its justified and gains viewers as well. Maria its their mission. Im not sure what part of the businessman or the journalism plan has made them decide maria merger on the way. Dagen money talks and theres a story that there was the threat, there was in the New York Post today of a 100 milliondollar lawsuit regarding this fake story. It was an incorrect fictitious story. I can call my mother and she can give me some story too and i can print it but thats still made up news. Your mother wouldnt make it up, though. Maria im trying to figure out how it happened, dagen. This is an Investment Fund that they are talking about. What did they do, make it up . Dagen theres a recklessness in journalism where people feel they can print anything and not pay the price whether its in their job n terms of money, there was the threat of a lawsuit according to report in New York Post and then also theres 85 billiondollar merger, at t looking to buy time warner and if you put that at risk, that still has to get approval from the federal government. Thats also at play here. Listen, theres a lot of fake news and i look forward reading the book. They went after the wrong guy. You may like his style or not like his style but if someone goes after him, okay, hes going make sure that hes protecting his name and thats the way all of these people, okay, should act. If theres a story, okay, thats inaccurate, then you should fight that and whether he gave a real threat or an idol threat, im glad that actually cnn came incredibly but i have no idea if they did enough or not. Dagen sarah palin has sued New York Times over editorial which they did retract but linked an ad that her Political Action committee put together to gabi gifforde shooting. You cant say whatever you want to. She has turned around and filed a defamation lawsuit. Do you think everyone is fighting for the Headline News and so everyone pushes the envelope to this gray area . We used to believe that journalists, if you dont like what you read on the paper, dont write it, now its the other way. And so maria i would push back on this. For example, on this Program Every morning we come out and we are following the agenda and we are trying to figure out what the Health Care Vote means to tax reform, what tax reform to the economy because we know thats what our view irs want. There was very little coverage of agenda on cnn since donald trump became president at all. Theyve been running with this russia story and ignoring Everything Else that the president is trying to do. Isnt it a matter of tone because its been the moral high ground and they are trying to hold to the moral high ground like they have something. You shouldnt lose it. What the story shows in bright red letter that is cnn last the moral high ground, the question is to you, youve watched this for a long time, will this have any impact other than the Anthony Scaramucci story . As the publish backlash starts to back up, certainly a lot of people like coverage and a lot of people dont, i would also say these this reporting that youre discussing about russia as i write in the book, fairly wellorganized narrative pushed by political and sometimes corporate operatives who get us out to report certain things and be Anonymous Sources and how to use social media and other tactics to get their narrative across and i dont think we are being careful, neutral arbiters of this and not being tools of them. Dagen this lady is from day one in terms of russia narrative when it was being rushed during dnc, during the convention after the hacking, again, they pivoted, they pivoted to russia and made it about donald trump and we you smelled it from moment one. Maria we were at the dnc, we were at the Democratic National convention in filly, it it was in philly. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was pushed out, everything that she said about bernie sanders. It was immediate to get the conversation off of debbie Wasserman Schultz getting pushed out on day one of her convention, it became theres collusion between trump and russia and we watched it take place and the narrative accelerated ever since the dnc and i feel like we saw it come it. I was uncomfortable with it from the getgo. This is precisely whats discussed in the book. When you see narratives, the different kinds of news, a lot of people get on the same page, it appears suddenly, there doesnt seem to be evidence for it, you can suspect the narrative is being planted and in this case to me too that it was quite obvious and i go a step further, what dont they want you to look at, what is it that they dont want you to see . Maria lots of smoke over here to forget about whats over here. Cheryl attkison. What it means for the restaurant industry, the deal prices tonight. It hits the markets tomorrow. Maria welcome back, breaking news on blue apron, the company lowered price range on ipo. Tracee carrasco with the details. Tracee, good morning. Tracee good morning, blue apron is trying to grab the grocer market. 3billion valuation, the company has had to replace a large number of customers who quit after trying to food and win over more people through ads and free offers, to find more customers, blue apron has blanket consumers with advertising and deals like 40 worth of discounts. According to wall street journal in ipo filing the company says it has spent 94 to acquire each customer on average since 2014. As a result its marketing cost as a percentage of revenue rose to 25 in the First Quarter from 15 a year earlier. Contributing to a 53 milliondollar loss. Multiple potential investors in ipo said they found the highmarketing costs concerning. Similar companies, hello fresh, sun basket et not only compete for customers but bid up advertising rates. Last week on Maria Bartiromo set she sat down with president , here is what he had to say. Very excited to have blue apron as well, another large ipo. Substantially all the large ipos come to the new york stock exchange, in fact, all of them, top 25, the reason is when we open ipo today, that combination of humans and technology will be observable on the floor and that helps to make sure that the trade the really smooth, and so we thats kind of our thats our specialty. Maria, back to you. Maria thank you so much, tracee. Its funny that we were just talking about this. We have the new sec filing. Thats down from the previous range of 15 to 17, you were on this set a week ago, peter, and you said this valuation doesnt make sense to me. Look, i think a lot of people are chasing great return. They all want to be the great snap and maybe not so much. This is a company we have been talking about thats done a very god job of trial but you know to build a business you need something more than trying and make it a habit. Maria you said this just a minute ago. I heard peter and heard you guys speak about it. Two things, the barriers of entry are pretty porous. Maria easy to get in the business. Its all about the cost of acquisition and they are now saying that their cost of acquisition is going up higher, higher by the day. If youre giving away free items, discounts, thats not the greatest sign into an ipo. Maria and then theres amazon acquiring whole foods making this market even more, you know, tougher, more competitive. Lets talk tech for a second. Futures are indicating a mixed opening. Nasdaq under pressure after Technology Sector led sentiment. This is where the leadership has been, peter. If you look at the stop stocks, the market is up 40 . Five stocks dont make a bubble but five stocks representing most of your gaynor nearly half of your gain is unwise. Some of these were mispriced, google overreacted. Its down way too much. Maria because of the eu fine . This is going to be a blip, nothing, but there are a lot of people who own google who dont know much about it because theres been a momentum play. All gods children own google, netflix and apple, what we should do is recognize theres been a rotation away from some of the leading stocks into health care, biotech, financials and so im glad that google and amazon havent come all the way back because they are trading sensibly now. Dagen there was assertion that the reason that nasdaq fell so hard was down more than 1 and a half her cent was because of the cyberattack but our Charlie Brady points out that cybersecurity stocks actually didnt rally as they did in the last cyberattack in mid may and Companies Like palo alto networks, and the rest of the group they were down 1. 1 . I question that that reasoning that thats why the nasdaq one down so much, again, its a ration. The question we are going to ask ourselves, are these five stocks almost like own index. A new group of ten stocks plus five others that become their own index that i want to be involved with where the market is going and does this really is this really the new direction . I think it could be. At the end of the day, google and Amazon Amazon is not a tech stock, thats everything, they are in everything today. The question is if you want to buy one stock that has their fingers in everything under the sun, its probably amazon. Maria will gain more so than other companies if we were to get tax reform and thats also some investors are positioning themselves. Lets buy the names that we know will see tax rates go down. Thats why the small and midcap stocks have been under fire. What people are looking for what are ways that we can get the kinds of gains that we have like google and netflix. Not a bad year. Maria yeah, id say. There are places you can look beyond and into the russell 2000 where there is some great value. Maria we are looking at a couple of names just in the news, Western Digital is one to watch today. Toshiba is suing Western Digital for more than a billion dollars. Interfering with memory chip business. Shares of Western Digital are up nearly 120 just over the last year. Talk about those fang names. The Company Reported both earnings and revenue above expectations for the Second Quarter. Quite a twist. The stock is up better than 40 this year. Wow. What a move in kb homes. Incredible. Maria welcome back President Trump tweeting this morning. This is what he said today. The failing New York Times write false story after false story about me. They dont even call the verify the facts of the story. Fake news joke. The president tweeted about the failing New York Times. Of course, we know that sarah palin is suing the times for defamation this morning. An army of robots has been call today protect Service Members from dangerous pathogens based in san antonio, xanex with robots that use uv lights. 300 medical Centers Across the world including 41va hospitals, 5 department va facilities. Morris, great to see you, thank you so much for joining us. Thank you for bringing all of this, the robot, you have this new piece here that you going to explain to us. This is a light zapping germ. Tell us how this works. Inside the middle of this changer is a bulb, when you pulse it with high power, highly intense uv light and will destroy the pathogens that would otherwise make people sick. So when you think about hospitals about one and 20 patients get this infection by disinfecting in the room before they go in you are able to protect troops, vas, people that go to vas and keep them healthy. Maria its the hospital room often times that has bacteria and germs in the room that gets the person sick when they are trying to get out of the hospital; you can get sicker. You shouldnt have to be word about getting sick maria in the hospital. We have a new disinfection pod. Inside a highly reflective material because uv light doesnt bounce off of things. Think about things that babies, inside the disinfection pod, flash the robot, all of a sudden its disinfected. There was another hospital, 60 mothers and their newborns got mrsa, this is the kind of thing that stops that. Maria explain the light. It looks like the robots could be the wave of the future. The robots for individual purchase or is this being purchased fbi hospitals . Its being purchased by the hospital. The sun has damaged the dna of your skin. Pathogens are just as vulnerable to that intense light. So the hospitals can go ahead and buy them or we are actually we have seen 50 to 100 reduction in infection rates in over 400 hospitals now. We are looking at that and saying, you know what, we are happy to give the hospital it is robots for free. Once they get a 5 reduction in infection rate, they paid for the robots, we wont even build them until 10 . Maria wow, i love it. Do we know which hospitals have them and which dont, how does that person know that these hospitals have the robots . Number one you should ask. Maria great stuff. Thank you so much. We will be watching watching the developments at xenex, morrise miller, we will be right back. So let me ask you this. How does diabetes affect your heart . It doesnt, does it . Actually, it does. Type 2 diabetes can make you twice as likely to die from a cardiovascular event, like a heart attack or stroke. And with Heart Disease, your risk is even higher. You didnt know that. No. Yeah. But, wait, theres good news for adults who have type 2 diabetes and Heart Disease. Jardiance is the only type 2 diabetes pill with a lifesaving cardiovascular benefit. Welcome to holiday inn whether for big meetings or little getaways, there are always smiles ahead at holiday inn. Maria welcome back, good wednesday morning. Thank you so much for joining us. Im Maria Bartiromo, it is wednesday june 28th, top stories right now 7 00 a. M. On the east coast. Targeting sanctuary cities. Congress is set to vote on kates law, kate stanley who killed. The president s travel ban set to go in Effect Tomorrow. A look at the changes that need to be made to ensure a smooth rollout today. Violence in venezuela flaring up. A helicopter launched grenade. Illinois on the brinks this morning. Martin shkreli are struggling select a jury and lost the bid to declare mistrial. Markets are showing mixed performances this morning. Dow industrials and s p 500 both higher, nasdaq extending yesterdays decline. Later this hour we are taking a look at big business of ets investment. In europe, markets are edging lawyer this morning. Take a look at the euro indices request ftse went to positive territory. The cac quarante is down a quarter of a percent. In asia declines across the board. Worst performers hang seng in china. Unbelievable video of a dog how he kept umpires hydrated. Look how cute. Bringing water to the umpires. We have that later this hour this morning. Good boy. All the stories coming up this morning and joining us to talk about it Fox Business Network Dagen Mcdowell, best selling author Peter Kiernan and robert wolf, great to see everybody. Great first hour. Dagen we all need more animal videos in our lives. Ease the angst of watching the political process and all the manufactured news that we have to tolerate. Maria lets kick it off right here because the president just tweeted and hes talking about fake news this morning. Here is what he said. Some of the Fake News Media likes to say that i am not totally engaged in health care, wrong, i know the subject well and want victory for the u. S. So the president is trying hard to get the agenda on the docket in the major news organizations but hes calling out fake news when he sees it. Coming up former commander in the middle east is with us this morning. Hailey barber is here. Alabama senator Richard Shelby is going to walkthrough some deregulation as well as the agenda like tax reform coming up and the ceo of Royal Caribbean cruises. Do stay with us. We kick it off this hour with top story, the house is voting today on two major Immigration Enforcement bill. Kates law, the bill named after kate shrinely who was shot in the chest by a man who was deport today mexico and came to u. S. To receiver probation in texas. Congressman mike johnson expressed the importance of the law to try and combat more stories like kates from happening, watch. Her murderer had been identified as criminal al line but as the chairman mentioned had always unlawfully returned. No legislation can prevent every strategy, obviously, but we have a duty to take every action possible to mitigate danger to the public thats caused by our immigration system. Maria this is as no sanctuary act. It also allows victims of crime committed by criminal aliens able to sue. These are issues that the president pounded on the campaign trail. How big of a win would this be in terms of passing this bill for the administration . Well, very significant and a profound change from prior administrations. Right now, i will give you an example, if the city of chicago or the city of San Francisco gets 100 million to reinforce the School System and the president says i dont want to give you the 100 million because youre shielding illegal aliens, theres nothing the president can do about it but the new administration would have strings attached. Do you want the 100 million, you accept the strings that you cant shield illegal aliens. This would be the first time. The government always attaches strings to the delivery of cash. This is the first time this string, you may not shield illegal aliens for any purpose is being attached. The other legislation in immunizes. The alien cant sue you if something goes wrong and someone is hurt as a result of what you reported. Maria do you think this will stop or lessen sanctuary cities . Most major cities cannot operate in the black without substantial amount of cash from the federal government. Although they may not like the strings, they almost always bow to them and the use of strings, conditions imposed upon the delivery of cash is a subtle way for congress to force states and cities to bend to congress will in areas where it cant legislate directly. Example, congress in the Reagan Administration we wanted to lower speed limit, we will repave all the federal highways in the state if you lower speed limit. South dakota said we want to cash but we are not lowering the speed limit. Elizabeth dole, ronal reagan secretary of transportation. You want the cash, accept the strings. Dagen would that case be precedent in this if the states if the municipalities sue over this law . Yes, that case has been upheld and used by congress or at least kept in mind by congress when it imposes the strings. Just a quick question, the house is voting, does this then need to go to the senate and get 60 votes . Yes to both questions. Would it get 60 votes . I dont know. I will use jim comey phrase, whether he wants to really go out, all out against this, the base of the Democratic Party which you understand as well as anybody would be fiercely against this and schumer must receiver the base by opposing it. The feeling is most democratic mayors may want to keep the sanctuary city. Maria like Rahm Emmanuel and bill de blasio. I dont believe i was reading a statement from denny, stane, number two democratic in the house. They are not going to oppose vigorously which may mean they will leave the heavylift to go chuck schumer. Maria what about the travel ban, portions are expected to take Effect Tomorrow morning. For now people admitted to the u. S. , universities, offered work by u. S. Businesses may be except, three justices, thomas, alito and gorsuch would allow ban in entirety. The last time the ban was enacted was implemented i think that the what the court did in order to get a consensus of nine justices, so you have Ruth Bader Ginsburg agreeing with thomas in a matter of Public Policy only came about through a compromise craft by the fine hand of the chief justice who is a master of compromises but with this exception and the exception is if the immigrant to be has a relationship, going like this in quotes because its in vague word, a person or an entity in the u. S. , that person, immigrant is except from the ban, justices thomas, alito and gorsuch say, what the heck is a relationship, its going to spawn dozens of trial as to whether they have a relationship. Both sides are declaring victory on this. Yes. Beth sides because the idea of students and the idea like what the judge said, what is a relationship, is hes not relative, its actually relationship from a business correct. College and or family. The word entities, bob, you could have a Business Opportunity in the United States and if you can persuade a federal judge that thats what the Supreme Court meant by relationship. Three monts and then go back to the Supreme Court . Oral argument is in october. The order has a 90day life period unless the president signs another order or reups it. The order will be history. Maria all of that for this. Dagen does this indicate how the judges will rule on the merits . No. Whether they are wise or prudent or just maria he has the authority. Correct. But this decision two days ago does not say that its constitutional, does not say what the law, it just says its going to stay in place subject to this carveout until we decide what it means. Dagen they did send a message to lower court judge that is they are not allowed to trample in the constitution. I would refine what you said, if i may just a little bit. Message to Lower Court Judges is in foreign affairs, the president is supreme and the courts should defer to his judgment because prior Supreme Courts have said just that. Maria lets talk about martin shkreli, shall we . Dagen oh, boy. [laughter] maria despite potential jurors say they cannot hear the trial fairly. Trial of the former Drug Company Executive enters third day today. Can this case be heard fairly despite the Media Attention . They couldnt even find a jury because nobody wanted to be there because they know the story and read all about it, what to you think . I empathize having been through this myself trying to pick a jury of 12 people who oblivious to the news stories. Held up the front page of the New York Post and said, how can you get a fair trial when they are saying this. Maria that was smart to do. It was. The job of the judge is to interrogate the potential jurist, are you going to be be influenced by editorial in the New York Post and if they dont want to be in the case, yes, i read the editorial and if they do want to be in the case, what do i care what the posts say. On the other hand, every time ben asks for a mistrial and the court denies it is an issue on appeal. So the more times you can force a trial judge to make decisions, even when they go against you, the more opportunities to raise that on appeal if and when your client is convicted and ben is a master at that. Dagen we raised the issue over again with all the legal problems that shkreli is having. Maria he came on the show. If anybody in the country tweets more selfdestructively than the president , its shkreli. [laughter] hes allowlevel guy. Lets face it it. Charged 750. We know thats not what hes on trial for. Why does this guy matter so much . Whats so important about martin shkreli. Its a side show. His name were martin jones we wouldnt be hearing the case, it would be an ordinary securitys fraud case, he duped investors out of money because hes shkreli, innocent people suffered for having to pay thousands of dollars for a bill, hes notorious. Do you think the base cosby mistrial on how the judge is thinking . The bill cosby mistrial had such unique issues in it because they promised him 15 years ago hed never be tried if he said under oath what happened and then the prosecutor died and the judge refuse today hold the Prosecutors Office bound by the promise and he was tried anyway. Maria the cover of the New York Post of shkreli yesterday, the most busted name in news. [laughter] maria judge, good to see you. [laughter] always a happy time here no matter what we talk about. Maria judge Andrew Napolitano, gambled and lost, why a battle over the budget is forcing illinois illinois to suspend the powerball, back in a minute. Maria Police Helicopter launching an attack in venezuela. Cheryl casone with the story there, cheryl. Cheryl its pretty wild. Political crisis in venezuela is getting worse and worse by the day. A Police Officer fired on the Supreme Court. What president nicolas nad swroa is calling a terrorist attack. Four grenades and fired 15 shots where people were at a social event. No reports of injuries actually. The officer later issued a video statement asking venezuelans to oppose tyranny. Illinois is suspended powerball sales for ongoing crisis. Without a budget or new legislation they are not going to be able to pay anybody that wins 25,000 or more. So no payouts, standoff between the state department what . Cheryl exactly. The republican governor, democratic speaker of the house had left illinois without a budget for two years, hospitals, dentist University Towns have been hit by this. 14billion, no more lottery for you, illinois. And then theres this, target taking aim at amazon with nextday delivery, its called restock, target is testing it out in minneapolis, you can fill box with 45 pounds of stuff and flat fee of 4. 99 and promising nextday delivery. This goes well in minneapolis, look at the stock, down 28 so far this year. And then facebook reaching another milestone, Ceo Mark Zuckerberg saying the social network has 2 billion users. They say an average of 800 million hit a like button every day, zuckerberg also saying hes proud that they connect to people and theyve gotten public and hes a billionaire. I can go on and on but i wont, back to you. Maria we will take a break, standing strong on syria President Trump and french lead err Emmanuel Macron vow to take action if assad regime takes chemical attack. Back in a moment right here. Stay with us rays always been different. Last year, he said he was going to dig a hole to china. At t is working with farmers to improve irrigation techniques. Remote moisture sensors use a Reliable Network to tell them when and where to water. So that farmers like ray can compete in big ways. China. Oh. He got there. Thats the power of and. I think that the message from the statement yesterday was extremely clear. I dont think it was a gray area. It was pretty black and white. Our goal every day is to do what we can to protect life in all forms and to take steps to move the ball forward in defeating isis. Maria white house is continue to go take a stern stance following revelation that is the assad regime may be planning another chemicals attack. President trump spoke with the french president and his concerns and the leaders agree that they need to Work Together should such an attack happen. General, thanks so much for spending the time. Thanks for joining us. Good to be with you, maria. Maria the white house says that the assad regime will pay a heavy price for any attacks. Your thoughts on how to respond should they come up with another chemical attack . I think that in this case it should be much stronger than the last time. I thought the last time we certainly sent a signal that we would respond but i thought the targeting was weak. I think now if he does it again that indicates that he didnt feel threatened in any way or paid a penalty. I think that the significance of a second strike would be much greater. Maria do you think the president has allies on this across world . This is not going to be the u. S. Alone, right . How do you feel about the relationship that the president has been trying to strengthen with friends in the middle east . Well, i think it should include not only regional allies in the middle east, it should join us in any response, but i would like to see more nato allies, obviously the french have made a commitment as you recently reported but i would like to see more of a nato involvement in this. This whole business in syria and the middle east and isis has washed onto their shores and we have yet to see an article five response, attack on one is an attack on all, and i think that across the world but particularly europe in the region, we should have more partners in this. Dagen what would a response look like from the u. S. , would it be air strikes on all of the air bases in syria, for example, i think there are five in addition to the one that the u. S. Struck earlier this year and would t be wise to even act preemptively . I think if we have absolute certainty that they are mixing the chemical weapons an up loading them preemptive strike would be a responsible way to go so that those chemicals dont land on the poor innocents as we have seen before. I think in terms of the targeting, last time we hit the airfield it was operational the next day, this time the significance would have to be greater, commanding control facilities, headquarters, things that would really hurt assad in the long run and hurt his ability to continue striking those targets that hes hit that are innocent people. General, how does this impact the relationship with us and russia if we do Something Like this preemptively . Well, we need to send a message that its not tolerated. Its not only russia that influences assad but iran and even hezbollah as well. Im not sure who hes listening to. I think he it should be made clear to putin that this should not be tolerated. Assad is moving assets next to russian assets, thats going to complicate our targets in some ways but they have to bear responsibility for this, this is their surrogate. Let me follow up on that question as it relates to russia because youre talking about putting russian men, equipment, material in harms way, what do you think putins response is going to be to try and coopt or prevent some sort of intersession by the United States or nato allies . I think that the message is clear, he has to make a decision on whether he would permit assad to conduct another chemical attack. I think he pays a penalty in terms of what might happen with his forces if theyre colocated where this attack originates, but i think we cannot back down and just let him provide a shield for assad and let assad at will to conduct these Chemical Attacks which are being clearly a violation of red line from the last two administrations. Maria right, this is why you want to see nato participating here. Absolutely. That sends the strongest message to putin that theres nation solidarity. Thats one thing hes been trying to test in Eastern Europe and elsewhere, if he see that is nato is solidly behind any action we take, that might be a deterrent in and of itself. Im really pleased by macron, in the earlybeginnings of his term, hes behaving like a true nato ally and im please bid his interaction with the United States so far. Absolutely. I think thats a good sign and, again, it might show that nato is beginning to stand up at least in certain quarters like in france. Maria all right, we will leave it there. We appreciate it. Sure. Maria coming up the Exchange Traded funds dominating the markets, whats feeling the rise of etf ownership and where the growers . Then growing buzz about drone that could help drone delivery take off. We are on it, back in a minute. Maria good wednesday morning. Thanks so much for joining us. Im Maria Bartiromo, it is wednesday, june 28 your top stories right now 7 30 a. M. On the east coast. A busy day for President Trump commander in chief will meet with immigration crime victims to urge the passage of house legislation kates law named after a woman killed by man whoed been deported to mexico then returned to the u. S. To serve probation, the president will also hit the fundraising trail first time hosting the first dinner to raise money for 2020, in washington tonight, from dugout to Oval Office Chicago cubs at 1600 pennsylvania avenue today details on the team second white house visit this year, coming up, wall street main street big on Exchange Traded funds investors putting money no etfs we continue to see that move into that portion of the market, markets today are looking lower futures indicating a fractional weakness for the nasdaq, extending yesterdays declines this morning, intelligent speaker under pressure in cyberattack a number of tech stocks rolled over after having a great last year the dow industrials expected up 16 points s p 500 higher two points very much a mixed story this morning, european indices lower. Ft 100 into positive territory up 3 1 2 points but cac quarante down a quarter of a percent the dax is down one half of 1 , in asia overnight, declines across the board, as you see here hang seng down twothirds of 1 , betting big on dlooifr from amazon to oscar mayer bracing Drone Technology, then it was a wild night in the bay area, check it out. The giants win in 14p. Maria it is over all right weve got highlights as giants told on to the top of the colorado rockies, in 14 innings quite a game last night. Slowing down etf sales record highs again. Gold man says etfs own 6 stock market end of First Quarter highest on record mutual fund sank to 24 same period lowest level since 2004 the president of pacer etf oharrow good to see you thanks for joining us. Welcome back we missed you gone greet job filling in thanks for chg us. This is a subject that is automobile near and dear to my family my husband is a ceo one of the oe. Tf providers out there i have watched this masht, accumulate get bigger with these tree has seen what you are you are seeing. We would like to be wisdom tree we have watched jonathan in career ab terrific job 3 Million Dollars etf assets the Mutual Fund Industry 16, 17 trillion dollars for four or five years, seven there has been neither redemptions, i think that is what is fueling the growth i think there is a innovation in the business dominated by big guys we are from pennsylvania, we are on same street as began overpowered i like to say second biggest etf company on our street they have had success but i think with the market wants is they want fair returns low cost tax efficiency if they get it. Should an investor take money out of the mutual and put into it etf why o go for etf over mutual funds looks like that is where they take market share from. Wree got all business, primarily from Financial Advisors we believe in the advice modeled i think the reason people are moving money that there is lower cost there is a lot more choices, i think the active funds have struggled versus benchmark not providing return people expect there is a tax advantage built in. Dagen you can apply and sell etf as individual shares better control your taxes essentially. I want to know, in order to keep growing assets do etfs need to get into defined contribution business you would be able to invest in them, very easily to 401 k plan. I think a big part of the next spurt as you know with mutual funds you can apply fractional shares with etfs you cant buy fractional shares there are people creating our etfs are available you need to do accounting as the money comes in. We get hung up on divengs between mutual funds mutual funds and etfs they are index funds not some sort of magic that people think that they dont understand etfs they do they are tradable index funds very cheap. Their Registration Form some exemptive reel on certain issues mutual funds mutual funds you can apply and sell during the day. When you think of growth of he etfulfillments decade line with up traded of the stock market it is kind of a aligned very well when you look at kind of your risk. I think going to work the same way as always if the market starts to sell off, you get a panic people are going to panic and sell, you know investors individual he vests statistics bear this out they have incredible able to to do wrong thing the wrong time wrong reason we have seen studies say market return is x, average individual investor return 20 or 30 of x, so i dont think that anything different will happen. As a result of the the pro liferance. It is another choice there is innovation going on in Exchange Traded fund world dominated like i said earlier by big guys not necessarily going to wind up, at that way, as you mentioned early o dont do low cost they screen for diseased earnings create interesting products we do certain things in Exchange Traded funds to provide Downside Protection so people word i about that we do that screen big indices down for 100 nails instead of like russell 1,000, 1,000 we screen down for 100 names we want. Like growth stories of the russell what are the etfs you see most interesting where are people putting money how are you going to evolve you say on same street as vanguard is not vanguard driving prices low for everybody. There is a a texas match going on were not going to enter that is for the big guys vanguard Ishares Blackrock schwab a race to zero if you will in that marketplace for low cost data were not interested in that we cant compete we dont have the skill but i think, to go along with that there is plenty of room for folks who do things different than simply provide low cost data, and if we can deliver on returns that we expect we should be able to provide, then i think we will continue to see growth in etf assets addition to a lot of flow is going into large cap funds the moment, if you want to think about where the monies moving, it seems to be that there is the a big move to outside the u. S. In Exchange Traded funds. I think that the world is wideopen i think i was first writer on financial writer covering etfs. A long time ago it was before the qs launched i never thought it would be this big i remember when ishares got launched i thought what the heck are he do doing slicing and diesing the market i think the world is wideopen. One of the things watched development of Mutual Fund Business is that there was a plethora of choices more and more and more until it got to be a dizzying array i am seeing etf do some stand things how do stand up unique superior in terms of products you are offering. All about how message is received how you deliver we focus on strategy when we build an exchange, we focus on a specific outcome tveteran kalz if a trend server you want in broadbased market going up you want Downside Protection if cash what you are trying to do screen for specific i say markers because i dont think factor is right word we use freecash flow yield the way to be effective growing communicate what we do, but we cant communicate what we do unless end blooer in mind i think the big opportunity probably has been this way a while those people in retirement have all the money right now, and so delivering solutions for what those folks are really dealing with, versus just going into a broadbased low cost etf going pawn what market does might not be right for those folks. That is what you said 401 k s. Dagen yep. I think solutions broort way to go a mistake mutual fund made got a lot of me, too product. I dont think we are a me, too product i think will continue to build up lineup that we will have veteran kalz to do specific things. How is market into end of the year. We like to talk about market, soars plunges i came up elevator two choices buns soar and plunge i probably would have taken stairs we are at 16 roughly for nasdaq yeartodate 8 s p yeartodate 6 on europe, i dont think it feels like it is tremendously overvalued, i am a a little bit of a contrarian if everybody is saying we are ready for a correction i doubt that is the final that will happen First Quarter earnings pretty good see what happens Second Quarter the end of the day all noise will get filtered to one basic fundamental things are fundamentals there for stocks prize to keep going up or not yeartodate they are. Question we will keep asking thank you so much, still ahead lawmakers have eyes on the sky how could get drone o deliveries in world champs making a second trip to the white house all that back in a moment. Welcome to holiday inn whether for big meetings or little getaways, there are always smiles ahead at holiday inn. Maria welcome back, lawmakers setting sights on the horizon house panel has approved new legislation that would set the groined work, for regulating drone o deliveries would accept federal rules for flying further than the pilot can see and smaller drones as well President Trump met with troen Companies Last week, robert wolf with us cofounder chairman of measure drone as a service, your company was a at the meeting your takeaway what is going on in governments how that effects business for drones. Quickly, we do some greet work with fox news i always have to say that, but ceo was there last week, and listen, the drone market is taking off proliferateing regulations quickly a goods thing you need to make sure we are always safe two things, one on commercial industrial use, it is moving well and we need to be able to fly beyond line of sight it is called looking at transmission pipelines, especially for certain aspects, being able to fly beyond line of sight power and Energy Important on delivery side everyone is talking about because it is on i like to say measures done hundreds of deliveries for one of the large box retailers in texas. And what we have found is Drone Technology is faster and safer than actually driving to remote locations. And so we can actually deliver a package faster than a truck can drive down a remote street and deliver it that being said, were not going to be the jettisons of new york city over night urban areas much more difficult when it comes to drone delivery because of privacy and security so not going to happen in new york but we definitely think will happen in a lot of other locations. Maria how much can a drone carry . So just to give idea we use multirotor drones, and you know you can we have done up to 15 pounds we have done multipell at one time different locations drones as small as this as big as table all types we use all different types. With deliveries in texas how do you get around concurrent federal regulations i assume you are talking about out of site drone delivery. So oneoff permitting you can get most going down you know remote area pathway where you are near the house you can see it most is capable and for us to deliver and see how were delivering, drop the package at front door. Maria wow. We are working with the large Logistic Companies too everyone is kind of trying to figure it out, one of the leaders at the white house meeting last week, partly luck we bought before wilbur ross came secretary of commerce was having a Wedding Party down in florida we told him which drones to buy he brought that up nice tidbit. Dramatic to watch, reminds me early days personal computer is incredible advances in intelligent usefulness when are they this able to do in a reasonable time. Glad you asked a nice softball thank you i owe you. Measure one of our behavings things is dealing with power so solar firms we are inspecting solar firms every day, and we can tell you when panels are dead companies can have more about electric output construction development, obviously media and vertical infrastructure. Firefighting Crime Fighting farming you name it. Every day we come in we get a new inquiry you are going to have richard on we worked roil caribbean last night use Drone Technology on waterways. I dont want antiwildlife poaching you cant imagine inquiries we are getting we have announcements coming up you had brandon exclusively, on fox, so we will continue to make sure have you stories. Big stuff robert thank you. Coming up next giants and rockies burn midnight oil in epic 14 inning pitchers dual, the highlights after this break. Back in a minute. Spiderman. A jolt Morning Coffee i am telling you. Dagen republicans are going to need spidey removes over holidays to get people onboard not only lawmaker but American People when what they are planning to do to reform obamacare they have to message it i good luck good luck to them, i could message it. Because about health care. Dagen it is about Peoples Health this is about trying to right financial wrongs basically reform an entitlement and republicans and democrats have showed no will to reform entitlements in this country if they fail on this fail altogether a long time. Criticism one side gives the other side, if they try to slow down the growth, of medicaid what this bill is trying to do. One of the frustrations to mi watchinging health care a met metronome we cant go backandforth health care is a strategic long term issue, and would be great democrats won convinced American People it is governments responsibility to provide each and every one i dont necessarily believe that i think it is up to individual you create a market for individuals can go get it rather than government providing it for you also want to government to provide education in corners of the democrats. Dagen cradle to grave. New york. Dagen take care of me uncle sam be careful what you wish for about. Joining conversation former rnc chairman mississippi Governor Haley barbour with us alabama senator Richard Shelby to talk deregulation Financial Services ceo Royal Caribbean cruise here big hour stay with us as we kick off top store senate Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell postponing Health Care Vote president holds a Republican Caucus meeting at the white house blake burman at the white house has the very latest. Good morning to you. Reporter good morning to you as well the bottom line for are for Senate Republicans is this numbers moving wrong direction at this moment at beginning four republican senators opposed to this Health Care Plan now number either oppose the plan or process stand at nine. That has led to Mitch Mcconnell to delay a vote at the earliest until at least after the july 4th recess. It is a very complicate subject. I had hoped as you know that we could have gotten to the floor this week. But were not quite there. But i think we got a really good chance getting there will take a little bit longer. Reporter mcconnell made comments after Republican Caucus was summoning to the white house yesterday for a meeting with President Trump despite nine of a 52 current republicans being nos the president suggested yesterday that things were moving in the right direction. Were going to talk were going to see what we can do were getting very close but for the country we have to have health care. And cant be obamacare which is melting down. Reporter you might have noticed in that video seated directly next to president some of the swing votes in this case, maria New York Times has an article out this morning, that suggests or at least reports, actually that the president as they put it has been quote largely on the sidelines with these health care talks. That article has most certainly caught ire of president sent sought tweets already on topic ends with following quoting from his twitter page says some Fake News Media like to say i am not totally engaged in health care. Wrong i know the subject well. And want victory for u. S. Maria that is it. Maria there you go, all right he sees something that he doesnt think is true is going to call it out blake thank you blake burman talk where we are with this debacle former rnc chairman former mississippi governor as well as Founding Partner of the bgr, group Haley Barbour with us governor good to see you, sir thanks so much for joining us. Thank you mar. Maria highways had two tries at it, someone said two bites at the apple. Is this unusual that the senate is going to be delaying this and coming back after the july 4th recess to get this done before august recess. Amazes me news media fails to remind people it took democrats 14 months to pass obamacare. Ch they had 60 votes in the senate most of that time. So that idea that you can get this done quickly you can repeal obamacare, have been quickly. But you cant replace it quickly successfully it takes time. Senator mcconnell i dont blame eliminate has other Business Needs to be tendeded to budget, nominations, tax reform things that are really, really every bit as important as this so he wants to get through with it so we can move to those. It should not inte surprising to anybody that republicans have been working for five months something took democrats 14 months to do they had bigger majority. Maria really good point i guess the reason people worried or i know focused on it so much is because, this piece of the president s agenda has gone to get done for Everything Else to flow, so the market wants tax reform, people think that is going to move neil on Economic Growth yet you cant get to tax reform until you get the legislation on health care done. And i think that is why senator mcconnell wanted very much to get this done before the 4th of july had a good artificial decline but just did not get there i do think one thing that has happened this week to the advantage of those replacing obamacare with better system the scoring done by cbo shows that the savings from the senate bill is in excess of 200 billion dollars in 10 years, 200 billion dollars more than house bill gives senators good deal to work with to try to close the gaps to try to go to the states, that are concerned about whether this would be fund or that would be funded, so i think that he is going to make the dealing to try to get there, and still have a very large savings bigger than the house, i think that is a positive for them. Governor, nice to see you. Do you think majority leader mcconnell has an interest in getting the vote even done even if it is a no vote just so they can move on . And just not continually dealing with this . Well, i cant speak to that. I think what he is trying to do is get it done get it over with, and thought maybe by having a forced deadline that they could get votes get it over with. But i dont think that mcconnell has committed himself to saying this is a first thing were going to do when we come back. I suspect he is thinking we are going to start working on how we can use the the scoring that cbo has given us, to see if he can resolve issues that are bothering these senators who have concerns. I think that is the right strategy, now whether he would want to have a vote i guess want to have a vote whenever hes got 51. Maria let me ask you about Berkshire Hathaway Ceo Warren Buffett weighing in wouldnt on pbinterview called it a tax cut for wealthy listen to this is your reaction. If the bill passed house 217 votes had been in effect this year i would have said i can give you exact figure i woved saved 679,999 dollars or over 17 of my tax bill there is nothing ambiguous about that i will be given 17 tax cut the people it is directed at are couples with 250,000 or more of income. You can entitle this relief for the rich act. Maria this from the guy doesnt have a salary, he has all this is wealth tied up in microsoft in Berkshire Hathaway stock rather and as a result, he is not paying income tax he is paying a tax 20 just you know for the stock that he owns, so it is apples and oranges. Actually i am glad he said it because hopefully it will cause some people in the news media to focus on the fact that obamacare contained a huge tax increase as Warren Buffett says, his taxes went up more than 17 because of a hidden income tax medicare tax if you look at numbers 20 tax increase. If you if you take his taxes minus 17 , and then add back it is about a 20 addition to what taxes will be not just 17 cut from what they are now, at any rate nearly 20 tax increase hidden, hidden from the American People. News media never reporting it. Dagen governor it is rolling back a tax increase is what it is when you talk about 3. 8 , investment tax, on on income vote. Tax which is what buffett is talking about why doesnt he just shut his yap a billionaire talking about people in six figures another thing getting rid of taxing on medical zrois destroyed 29,000 jobs in this country over threeyear period, sensitizeels innovation he is talking about getting people mocked the fact the republicans want to get rid of the tax on tanning saloons how about going to people in hinterlands in south own tanning saloons had to foot bill on doubledigit excise tax that was hidden in obamacare . That is putting people out of business they want to get rid of that they can mach all of this all they want to but it is meant to help create jobs in this country. Maria ask how about buffett rule any making a Million Dollars to pay more taxes where is his buffett raoul doesnt have income getting taxed on total hypocrisy joy put a microphone on i hope you all report it so that the public understands obamacare was a gigantic increase equivalent in the income tax, that is what buffett is talking about. Yeah, do you think they get this done get tax reform done soon after governor what do you think . Are you worried about the timeline. I was in white house last time we did tax reform. It took more than two years. Things that are complex, and controversial dont get done fast. But the sooner we can get started on tax reform the better i think there is a huge appetite like in 85 and 86 maria Ronald Reagan went on tv spring of 1985, made his pitch for tax reform. What was the democrats response . Danny ross tenkowski said mr. President we want tax reform too can you imagine that in this congress from democrats. No greet insight as always thank you, sir. I think everybody around the table should be getting outcome we know the status quo is simply unacceptable. Top story this half hour senate Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell postponing the vote on gop Health Care Bill to repeal and replace obamacare, until after the july 4th recess, Deputy White House press secretary says the timeline is not the priority. Getting it right is. Health care first, obviously we are continuing to be optimistic the president is committed he said in all the members of the administration have said repeatedly to repealing and replacing obamacare working with Senate Working with house making sure we get the best bill for us it has never been about deadline but about getting did best piece of los angeles that helps most americans. Maria you have the gop senators with president at the white house yesterday to talk about the path forward, joining me write now is appropriations and Banking Committee member, alabama senator Richard Shelby good to have you on the Program Thanks so much for joining us. Thank you, maria. Will you vote for this bill in current form. I would vote nor in it preform i advocated straight out repeal from the beginning, and delay the repeal for a year because that way we could work with democrats and get a Bank Solution bipartisan solution we are trying to get four or five people to yes. Maria youve got 10 senators basically saying they cant support this bill in current form what is the major problem, here . Is this all about the Medicaid Expansion . Part of it is, a lot of it is. Some of the conservatives are that are probably reluctant to support the bill they are concerned with the Medicaid Expansion period some moderates are concerned that it is not enough so forth, so we are trying to work to yes. We are going to have a few more weeks to do that. Wait and see what happens, i am hopeful. Maria Susan Collins said we cant just do tweaks we need something closer to repeal what senator rand paul said as well so in next two weeks as we go into july 4 holiday, you and your colleagues come back, before the august recess, what do you think could change . Do you think you are going to get this to the floor for a vote before the august recess . I think there is a good chance but i think what comes first is how can you get four or five people as i said to voting yes. And i think it is going to take modifications to what the bill looks like today. Lets see what happens. In washington, anything is possible. Sometimes, impossible. Maria yeah, well i mean the point is youve got to get this done before you move to tax reform, and everybody expects that tax reform will in fact move the needle, on Economic Growth, the question become will you gets tax reform done in 2017 sir. I agree with you, we know that were planning to get into tax reform in the fall i think a good time to do it it is overdo i believe we will move something we have to focus on trying to say yes to good pill trying to put together. From your standpoint in terms of of tax reform are the priorities that you see that sort of are a must in there in other words do you need to see a revenue portion revenue raise within a tax reform bill or do you are you about comfortable with eliminating all deductions . What is your priority in terms of what is most important. Well, my priority is to lift some give tax relief to middle in america also lower Corporate Tax rate, and if we do this i think we are going to stimulate votes and in the country weve got to look at balance once you cut taxes you could have an imbalance a big devastaooiig de forth very complicated but doable i think right thing to do for American People and our economy. Maria so does that mean you are in favor of a borderadjustment tax since you are taking youve got to get revenue in there how you going to get revenue in there. The borderadjustment tax has problems of its own would it bring a lot of revenue as you just referenced would also since we have so many we import and export all the time globalization, we better watch the ramifications of a borderadjustment tax. It is still probably going to be debated, i doubt it will pass. Maria all right, so you are not a fan of that, then because do you try to find revenue somewhere else . Is really the question. Well that is talking about that borderadjustment tax rate then, Royal Caribbean shows off the we talk about changes to next generation back when in a minute. Welcome back, Royal Caribbean cruise line with the first new line of ships in a decade. Its transformational. Designed by engineers using 3d technology. Its an exciting moment receipt now for Royal Caribbean. Joining me the ceo, richard, great to see you. Great to be back. Maria whats different about the celebrity edge. Tell us about the virtual design process. Thats different, for decades well all designed ships using two Dimensional Technology and look at pieces of paper and once in a while make a model. And we called an innovation lab, it has Virtual Reality and we can walk into a space and feel it and the result is, we can make it so much more exciting, so much more elegant, so much more functional and feeling good because you can actually walk aboard it. Its like the deck on the starship enterprise. You had a big event talking about this last night. The innovative and new amenities, that youre calling the magic carpet ride. The magic carpet was originally started out as an idea to make it easier to get from the ship onto a launch if youre on any of the esoteric ports we go to and it evolved into this great space the size of a tennis court. People can go there, go on different decks and add to it. One of the things we wanted to accomplish with the new ship was to give us more expecttivity to the sea and we have got more glass than weve used before. The magic carpet has people hanging off the side of the ship. Maria oh. [laughter] they can be there and close to the ocean and do it on the water, literally at the water line, on tech 5, 12 and 16. Amazing. How is the cruise business going overall . Youve got some competition, ritz carlton announced theyre expanding their brands into boat businesses, luxury yacht cruises. Youre seeing competitors see what youve seen for a long time. Characterize the business for us. Its remarkable. Ive been in this job for 29 years and never seen a market as buoyant, euphoric with the customers just so happy to be coming with us. We have the best market i can remember seeing. Maria what do you think that is . Do you think the economy is better . Is there a different tone that you see thats causing this increase in business . Well, you know, its not our job is not to figure out why its happening, but it is happening. Maria youre enjoying yourself. We are definitely enjoying it and i think that part of it is is just the consumer seems to be confident. Most importantly, you know, theyre gotten away from buying things. Theyve bought their tv set. Maria they want experience. They want an experience. Theyre collecting memories and the cruise offers an opportunity to collect memories like youve never seen before. Maria thats a really good point because youve got another perk of being a guest on the Royal Caribbean cruise, youve created a special waterproof design of the snapchat spectacles. Where did you get the idea . Wonderful things working for Royal Caribbean, the ideas come from all people. And the Virtual Reality democratizes the process. No longer does it have to be done in offices and architects looks at them in offices all the time. Youre a waiter, and youre you listen to all ideas. People feel they can bring them up and they do and thats why we keep improving. Maria the snap spectacles, thats targeting a younger group, right . You want younger people on cruises. One of the big beauties whats happening, the millennials, our preference scores amongst millennials are off the charts. You know, people think of cruising as being for older people and yet, whats really happened is its the family market. Its the younger people who are learning whats so special about cruising. And i think that has a lot to do with success these days. Maria which is why you raised guidance last quarter. How do bookings look the rest of the year. They look terrific. At the end of last quarter, weve never seen tone this good and we have more bookings further in advance. We actually have said were limiting ourselves because we dont want to book so far in advance that people want to book later on hopefully at higher prices. Maria you may be getting here, richard. Im going to take a cruise soon. Well be watching the developments. Richard thain. Well be back the back side of this break. So let me ask you this. How does diabetes affect your heart .
