Sandra what do we need to know about earning season, what we have seen so far and what we may have to look forward to this week . Its been interesting. Earnings started two weeks ago and the first week literally the best earnings ive seen in probably my 30 years that ive been doing this. Last year last weeks earnings were not quite as good but good. I have noticed a lot of stocks with the good earnings have sold off after earnings. I think theres part of the markets that has advanced so much that people are using it as opportunity to sell the news and so i continue to see good earnings, we are halfway through, theres a lot left. So far so good. The backdrop for the economy and for the market is pretty constructive here. Sandra lets talk sectors, what specifically are you watching . You know, we are looking at everything at the hodges funds, one thing we are noticing that we like, rotation in the momentum stocks. Weve had a very narrow sandra like what specifically . The fang stocks, the ones in the dow, apple and boeing and looks like those have stopped going up. Youre not seeing drastic selloffs there but you are seeing momentum stocks and some of the laggers, things that are trading 1015 times earnings start to improve. I think thats a healthy, healthy part, healthy sign that the market is showing up. Sandra you sound pretty optimistic as we look at dow, overall are you pretty optimist that i can the rally, recordsetting rally could continue . It will, it can continue. You know, we have been looking for a selloff and we will get one. The 5 to 7 selloff that we get every year hasnt occurred in over year. We are due a selloff. Thats actually a healthy thing. One thing that i think tells you how strong the market is, is that every selloff 2 to 3 variety is bought up pretty quickly and thats a healthy sign. I would be cautious, i would be looking for an opportunity to buy stocks, if the market does cooperate and go down 5 to 7 , use that to get into buying. A lot of interest in snap reporting earnings, any forecast there . I dont follow it particularly, i know its been a disappointing stock. When they break ipo price, thats a negative sign. The lockups have been, i guess, expired and the insiders are selling. Its got a little work ahead, im afraid. Sandra turn to go political market, tax reform a huge discussion and has been the president wants 15 , we are hearing from even republicans that that may not happen. Might look more like 20 and how much leverage really is there if this continues to drag on into next year, craig . You know, the market has been amazingly resilient despite the fact that the government has not had much success getting some of the programs through. I think the tax reform is really what the market is looking forward. I think the market is still saying it can happen, it should happen at some point. I think if you get into october, november, and theres not been any progress made, i think then the market has headwinds in front of it. I think most people think that its analysts that i see, it can get done and should get done. I guess the timing is more really anything. Sandra whether or not 15 was a possibility, lets listen. I actually think it is, but its going take democrats and republicans getting together putting aside their stupid differences and saying, look, this one time lets do this for our country and american citizens, lets do for for our economy and lets do for the world, really, because the United States is the key country in the world. We are not strong, the rest is going to be in chaos. Sandra i want to bring congressman Jason Chaffetz. Is tax reform a reality by the end of the year . It has to be in terms of republicans who control all levels of government. When Orrin Hatcher says they may not be able to do it, its frustrating in that Mitch Mcconnell in july on a tuesday announce that had the senate was going to stay in session because they had all the important business through the week but they are not in session this week. The announcement on tuesday, they broke on a thursday, theyre supposed to be here all this week and now they cut it off early, how do you make progress when youre not even there to talk about these types you have the deficit, that issue is coming up september 29th, budget deal to fund the government through tend of the fiscal year and we all know theres conversation about border, you know, the border wall and all kinds of things, so thats just bound to take up more oxygen out of the room. It seems like they are plowing forward with the expectation this will get done. Yeah, you know, thats one thing that it seems thats the one thing that everybody seems to somewhat agree on and we do pay the highest Corporate Taxes in the world and its a disadvantage. Our economy is disadvantage to the world. It takes too much sense. Im not sure why other than political reasons sandra let me ask you this and i lay in bed wondering of this, kind of a joke, but when you have seen the record runoff, craig, you think this is all happening on the expectation that tax reform will get done, say it gets done, then what happens to the markets . What do they move on higher then . Do they sell on the news . This was so dramatic that it would be a real gamechanger for our economy and stock market specially smallcap companies, smaller companies, theyre are the ones who dont have the advantages to take advantage of lower taxes and so i think that would be, you know, small caps have underperformed. I think thats one reason they are underperformed because we havent gotten a tax legislation through. If that happens, i think you see small caps do well. Venezuela has to get as much oil as possible on to the market and this is something that opec needs to contend with because not only do you have libya and nigeria which are currently exempt from the quotas now producing near their record capacity, you have the weak link in the cartel venezuela that has to sell its oil at any price. So the big question with regard to opec is will libya and nigeria now join the quota to compensate for venezuela and their need to completely get as much oil on to the market as possible because they are starved for cash.
