her opponent's flames. and as the olympics come to a close, u.s. officials hint they are not ready to close the case between ryan lochte and his teammates. why the swimmers may not have left their troubles behind in brazil. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. th in miami, including the two areas where the zika virus has been spread by mosquitoes. students have been given protective clothing. mosquito-borne zika cases have been found in two neighborhoods in miami-dade county. meanwhile, a u.s. top official says the virus is likely to be a problem for a while. brian webb is here in new york. brian, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. a leading health official said he wouldn't be surprised if zika turns up in states like both have been hit hard by flooding and, of course, standing water is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. health officials in miami-dade county distributed mosquito repellant over the weekend to parents sending their kids to school today in the newest zika zone. >> make sure you apply the repellant before coming to school. it should be able to last you the whole day. >> reporter: the superintendent of schools helped hand out protective uniforms consisting of long sleeves and pants. >> better safe than sorry. i know on the way to school, it may be uncomfortable. once in school, it's going to be comfortable. >> reporter: the back-to-school push comes just days after authorities identified five new cases of the virus in miami beach, apparently spread by local mosquitoes. the area is just across from the original zika zone in the wynwood arts district. federal health authorities say other states on the gulf coast may be at risk. >> i would not be surprised if we see cases in texas and you have the situation with flooding in louisiana. >> reporter: zika has been linked to devastating birth defects in pregnant women. the cdc is advising women who plan to get pregnant, expectant mothers and their partners, to postpone travel to the two florida areas at the center of the outbreak. president obama is gearing up for another battle with congress over funding to fight zika. so far, the administration has put $600 million toward the cause. the cdc says it needs more like $2 billion. >> brian webb here in new york, thank you so much, brian. now to politics. the trump campaign is throwing cold water on reports that donald trump may be wavering on his call for the mass deportation of 11 million undocumented immigrants. the headlines follow trump's weekend meeting with hispanic leaders, but there are mixed signals. in a broadcast interview, trump's new campaign manager, when asked about the deportation plan said, to be determined. errol barnett has more on the >> reporter: this pitch from donald trump to african-americans made in front of a mostly white audience was meant to boost his support. >> you're living in poverty. your schools are no good. you have no jobs. 58% of your youth is unemployed. what the hell do you have to lose?
