And it really resonated with people because there are a lot of weekend warriors in this part of the world. And he was one of them. Number one, i reporter bay area sports legends tell us they never hesitated to stop and do an interview with wayne. He was very genuine and very authentic because he came from a place of having been there, done that. Theres a love of how he played the game and how he reported. He was one of those first up no nonsense kinds of guys when it came to sports and broadcast and told the story. Reporter wayne walker passed away due to complications from parkinsons disease. Five years ago i was diagnosed with parkinsons. Which is a result of multiple concussions. When i played. Reporter wayne told us about his illness two years ago. He was asked if he would have played football again knowing what he knew now about repetitive brain injury. If it were up to me again, id do it. I know playing now id have a better chance of better medical advice than we had back in my day. Reporter Wayne Harrison walker, we are gonna miss you. Wayne was style, class, professionalism. He was a genuinely nice man. He would be truthful and he wouldnt take any cheap shots. He just enjoyed life. He just makes me smile every time i think about him.
