we begin tonight's team jacqueline bennett. who is tracking the conditions. jacqueline? >>jacqueline: we've set records every day this week and today no exception. we were warmer across all of the bay area today. more a degree readings. near 90 vallejo, 86 and napa, 88 and concord. even near the coast line, we did see 75 degrees in san francisco. at our current conditions, warm and a number of places. still 85 in napa, 83 concord fairfield and livermore. still 82 in sunnyvale. upper seventies toward the peninsula. we're seeing dry conditions. dry conditions permit from the inland valleys. -coming. red flag warning been extended until noon tomorrow. burning is banned at this time during this morning. the >> pam: continuing our team coverage now. right now. a large wildfire continues to burn in sonoma county. this is video of the yellow fire. from our helicopter partnership with abc-7 news. the blaze has now burned more than one hundred acres. there live with the efforts to contain this fire. charles? >>charles: right now i'm standing along highway 128 just north of calistoga here in sonoma county this is where cal fire has set up a command post for fighting the yellow fire.. which is still burnign about 2 miles to the northeast of where i'm standing. this fire has consumed 125 acres and is only 50 percent contained. also, this property belongs to the kendall jackson windery and we understand that several acres of grape vines may have been lost, but no structures are in danger. through out the day wednesday crews with cal fire and several local agencies worked to contain the yellow fire. (nats) a pair of helicopters made water drops on the blaze to slow it's progress. also, bulldozers and hand crews worked on building containment lines around the burn zone. gusting winds, low humidity and hot temperatures have made this a stubborn fire to put out. cal fire says that the dry conditions may also be an indication that this could be the beginning of a long fire season. >> this is typical of what we see for june so made, it is giving us indication of what fire season is going to be like. the helicopters continued making water drops until sunset and cal fire says they will return in the morning. they also hope to have full containment on this fire by thursday evening. now there was another smaller wildfire today in napa county. the silverado fire burned about 75 acres, no structures were lost. that fire is now 100 percent contained. in sononma county, charles clifford kron 4 news. >> pam: their homes. all year round. three new arrests in the boston bombing case. all of them. people who knew the two brothers suspected in the deadly terror attack. these three are charged with helping to dispose of evidence after the bombings. all while knowing that their friends were believed responsible. kron 4's catherine heenan reports. >>catherine: ahz'-maht tuh-zaye'-uh-kov and dye'-us kad-uhr-bye-ev, from kazakhstan and american citizen robel phillipos were fellow students at umass=dartmouth with bombing suspect jokar tsarnaev. they told federal investigators they were all close friends. philipos is charged with lying to federal investigators. the two kazakhs are charged with covering up evidence in the case, they have been held for more than a week on charges they violated their student visas. all were in court today in boston. the two foreign students did not ask for bail. one of their lawyers says his client had no idea jokar was behind the bombing >> he is just as shocked and horrified by the violence in boston that took place as the rest of the community individual was involved in the bombing. >> p >> catherine:the federal indictments tell a very different story. kron four's grant lodes has a closer look. >>grant: fireworks tubes emptied of gunpowder. investigators combing through this landfill in new bedford found them in a backpack, inside a black garbage bag. the backpack also held a college homework assignment for a class in which surviving bombing jokar tsarnaev was enrolled. that was one week ago. today, the fbi complaint detailed exactly how it got there. along with admissions by all three suspects that they knowingly tried to conceal evidence. here is a timeline of what the three people arrested today told investigators. (boom) april 18th, three days after the bombing, the fbi releases these surveillance photos of the suspects. dye'-us kad-uhr-bye-ev , one of the three people indicted today, texts his friend jokar and tells him he looks like one of the suspects. jokar texts him back, saying among other things "l=o=l" and other things he interprets as jokes. he also says, "i'm about to leave. come to my room and take whatever you want." at about six=thirty in the evening, kad-uhr-bye-ev and his friends ahz'-maht tuh- zaye'-uh-kov and robel philipos go to jokar's dorm room. jokar is not there, but his roommate lets them in, the three watch a movie, and then notice the backpack with the empty fireworks tubes. kad-uhr-bye-ev and tuh- zaye'-uh-kov told the fbi they realized then that their friend was involved in the bombing. they take the backpack and jokar's laptop back to their apartment in new bedford. by this time the news is filled with images of the shootout in watertown. the three watch t=v until early morning. at 6 a=m april 19th, new reports identify jokar and his brother tamerlane as suspects and report that tamerlane is dead. kad-uhr-bye-ev then puts the backpack in a garbage bag and places it in the trash. that afternoon tuh-zaye'- uh-kov observes a garbage truck take the trash away. the indictment reveals that f-b-i agents began interviewing the three suspects within hours of johar's capture. the two foreign students admitted their roles in the alleged coverup. but robel phil-ipos kept insisting he knew nothing about it. finally after a week of interrogation, he admitted he had lied. >> pam: martinez. he is currently out on bail. new span of the bay bridge. new at 8-- the state of california is expanding a program to get guns out of the hands of those. who are legally prohibited from having them. the new law, authored by state senator mark leno, hopes to clear the streets of some 40-thousand weapons. kron 4's dan kerman reports. >>dan: before being seized, every single one of these weapons was in the hands of someone who was legally prohibited either because they had been convicted of a felony, placed under a domestic violence restraining order or were deemed mentally unstable now a new law just signed by the governor will make it easier for law track down these people and confiscate their weapons >> a list of people were known to be armed. at a news conference wednesday attorney general kamala harris said california is the only state that currently has a program that targets those prohibited from owning weapons this new law expands the program by giving the state department of justice an additional 24- million dollars to hire 36 new >> this is about targeting those people who are in violation of the law and that is in the best interest and a legitimate firearm as anybody else. the state knows there are at least 20-thousand of these illegal gun owners because they have compared the list of registered gun owners, with its list of convicted felons and its list of those court. >> we merged these lists that we keep and that way we have been able to identify some of the most dangerous people on our streets. people in possession of these weapons right here who are legally from that judge prohibited from using these weapons. in cities around the world and here in the u-s. may day is being marked with ralliedan carmen, kron4 news. prosecutors announced yesterday they are charging him with nine felonies for having sex with a minor. sources say the alleged victim was a student at no. 8 high schools. they are unsure whether she was on the team or just a student at the east bay high school. the alleged crime took place the home and the un inc. areas of costa county. he is currently out on bail. investigators believe there is only one alleged victim in this case. school officials did not return kron4's calls about whether. a source says yank was very helpful to team players and are shocked he was having sex with possibly a teammate. if he's convicted, he could face eight years in a prison. and walnut creek, terisa estacio, kron4 news. --in walnut creek. plus across the bay area thousands of people rally calling for immigration reform and series new concerns tonight about wells and the fans of the concerns tonight about wells a[ female announcer ] safeway presents real big deals of the week. or how to get great prices on things you need. we know you look around for the best deals. that's why we give you real big club card deals each week. start the fiesta. 12 packs of corona are $11.97. a tasty deal is served. marie callender's meals are $2.00 each. and simply orange oj is just $2.88. real big deals this week and every week. only at safeway. ingredients for life. living on cloud nine with that u-verse wireless receiver. you see in my day, when my mom was repainting the house, you couldn't just set up a tv in the basement. i mean, come on!
