the conversation that prompted a school lockdown. but first.. donald trump continues to claim victory in monday's debate as he prepares for round two early next month. it's your voice.. your vote in the race for the white house.. and with election day less than 39-days away.. voters in several states are already casting ballots. but what impact could early voting have on the race for the white house? abc's lana zak is following the latest polls and endorsements from washington. this election is up f nats hillary clinton in florida responding to supporters who feel she should do more-- sot - clinton: "some might say you've only got 39 days to go--why aren't you just out there beating up on your opponent and doing everything to get the vote out and all the rest of it. well, i'll do that [cheers]" meanwhile donald trump is campaigning in michigan--visiting the ford museum--but not answering reporter questions on today's starting in the wee hours this morning, trump railed against clinton, former miss universe alicia machado, who he described as "disgusting," and the conservative newspapers that have written scathing anti-trump editorials today including dorothy rabinowitz in the wall street journal warning that trump would be "the most unstable, proudly uninformed, psychologically unfit president ever to enter the white house." abc news has learned trump surrogates were encouraged to attack clinton on her response to monica lewinsky in a talking points memo... and we are hearing from te different forum...a judge ruling to release trump's deposition on a lease dispute regarding his new washington hotel sot: lawyer: you think your comments would cause a latino or persn of mexican heritage to be potentially biased against you. trump: with respect to what lawyer: with respect to anything trump: i think in many cases they like me tag: trump would be "awake to answer the call." meanwhile the commission on presidential debates - confirming there was a problem with mr trump's microphone in the debate hall. lana zak, abc news, wwashington. liberterian presidential nominee gary johnson picked up his second newspaper endorsement. the chicago tribune announced its support.. calling johnson "practical," "able" and "experienced." the paper also suggested that trump and clinton have appealed to voters whose beliefs are not in the best interest of all americans. the detroit news endorsed the former new mexico governo but admitted he's "the longest of long shots." new developments in the case of the the south carolina teenager accused of killing his father and wounding three people at a school. we're now learning he will be charged as a juvenile. this means if the 14-year old is convicted of murder --- or on the attempted murder charges... he will be freed when he's an adult. the teen is accused of killing his father at their home on wednesday before driving to a nearby elementary school and opening fire. right now, one of the students.. a 6- year-old boy...is in critical condition. two nebraska teenagers taken out of school in handcuffs.. after making what authorities describe as a 'credible threat.' police were notified after another student reportedly heard them talking about bringing a gun to school and told administrators. no word on what charges they might be facing. creepy clowns shut down schools in ohio. schools in reading were canceled today after woman reported being attacked by a clown. said "students and teachers will wish they were never born at the junior and senior high school today." the attack came just hours after police arrested a junior high school student on charges related to an online clown- related threat. tulsa police officer betty shelby has pleaded not guilty to first degree manslaughter. shelby is charged in the shooting death of terence crutcher during an encounter on september 16th. the d-a says shelby confronted of the road.. but escalated the situation to the point of overreacting. shelby remains free on bond. police in pennsylvania are on a desperate search for a man caught on surveillance video.. repeatedly beating a young child. we want to warn you...the video is hard to watch. for 30 seconds, you see the man hitting the little boy in a parking lot. at first he uses his belt. then-- it looks like he punches knocking him to the ground. he finally picks him up and forces him into the car. a witness says at first he thought it was two adults fighting, until he could hear the boy screaming. he rushed over to put a stop to it, but he says they were already in the car. "the boy's lip was bleeding. his little hand was bloody on the window. the pain, the fear, his eyes just were like help me. he just had it all over him. help me. and i'll do all i can to help that boy." police officers having been injuries. they're hoping someone will do the right thing and come forward. a daycare employee in kentucky has been cited with second degree assault.. stemming from a disturbing game. according to lexington police.. two male staff members called it 'smack for a snack'.. which required children to get hit so they could get food. according to the police report.. the only way a child could get yogurt was to allow the men to hit them with a stick. a paren finding bruises on their child. a small town mayor in pennsylvania could be out of a job soon... all because of the things he posted on facebook. this is just one of the pictures the man had on his facebook page... seemingly supporting donald trump. many are calling the posts offensive and want the mayor to resign. "you don't need to be putting stuff like that out there. i don't care if it's your personal opinion. keep it to yourself. (butted with) i hope he changes his ways. i hope he apologizes for it. the mayor is not commenting on the controversy, but says this is all a quote-- "witch hunt." the city council will be meeting monday to decide what to do. the nation's amber alert system is getting a major upgrade. smartphone users can now expect to receive more information on missing children.. including their pictures. the f-c-c also voted to allow the length of the text to be much longer.. and include phone numbers and links to websites. officials are also working to deliver the messages mor precisely to specific
