year old boy in custody who they say shot a ten year old boy in chester, delaware county. it happened around 1:00 yesterday afternoon, at the corner of west ninth and engel street. police say the boy on deadly wave of wild fires out west. california is under state of emergency. firefighters are battling more than two dozen fires there. one of those firefighters has died. and the largest fire in the state, so-called rocky fire, is generating enough smoke, it can even be seen from space. that fire has burned 50 structures half of them homes. thousands of others are threatened, and more than 12,000 people have been forced to evacuate from their homes. carter evans is there. >> this is the type of fire californians have long feared. one, that literally explodes inch in size, in just three says all of its officers will be wearing body cameras, by the end of the year. septa is expands ago pilot program, that was launched last year, outfitting some officers with the cameras officials say the program has gotten positive feedback from the public, many believe the recording devices will help protect their rights, and also officers lives. body cameras also help police streamline their mean things to me, but just slips out. >> after months of planning, a donor was found through gift of life, an unidentified child, a team of 40, at children's hospital, operated for ten hours. >> and overall great way to finish offer the weekends. we take you back to center city here looking south, you can see some of those thin mid to high level clouds, streaming in from the south. but, generally just mostly sunny sky today. that sunshine will really heat the temperatures up quickly. but compared to 24 hours ago actually few degrees cooler, anywhere from about two 5 degrees cooler, but don't worry, we will heat up again this afternoon it, will get close to 09 frees again day six of the current heatwave. humidity levels still fueling pretty pleasant today. low dew point temperatures, that changes later tonight into monday. so we call it steamy tomorrow. that will be the hottest day of the week. with that humidity, we see cold front come through that could trying off scattered shower storm monday night. humidity levels drop again we head towards the middle of the week, nothing too bad here for the start of august. storm scan3 looking great across the region, no threat of any rain, just some of the clouds may move in from time to time. and you may see some fair weather cumulus clouds develop. actually we will be dealing with high pressure over us for the next couple of days. so we see the next front come in triggering off shower or thunderstorm, no chances for any rain today. 30% chance monday. mainly in the evening and at night, most of this will be north and west of the city, key word here will be scattered. tuesday, there could be lingering shower, maybe early in the morning something could pop up in the afternoon but very isolated. no need to cancel the outdoor plans, wednesday, also looking good, then see better chance for some rain coming in by the ends of the week, which will help cool temperatures back down actually below average. and i'll show you that in the seven day forecast, but through the afternoon, nothing but bright sunshine, warm temperatures stay cool if you can if you are outside. no problems tonight. traveling through the evening looks good. maybe dinner plants, breaking out grills sunday night barbeque no problems. monday afternoon again looking good, sunshine, few fair weather clouds, later on during the day see chance for some of the showers and thunderstorms, to develop again mainly north and west of the city. temperatures hot so are the phillies, check them out. ballpark, braves in town first pitch coming in at 1:35. sunshine 86 degrees. stays warm throughout the entire game. but we talk about some relief that's on the way. we look in the upper atmosphere, see where the jet stream; still pretty much over us to the north. cool pocket of air over canada. that will try to move southward for the mid toll second half of the week ahead. so some of the cooler air filters, southward see clouds and showers with it, unfortunately, so some wet weather does return. we could use some rain. below average recently. and then head to next weekends temperatures pretty much where they should be, maybe couple degrees below average. mostly sunny today hot not humid. high temperature near 09. tonight warm, few clouds around noticeably more humid low of 72 degrees, monday, that's our hottest day. 93 degrees, it will be
