Abdirahman Abdukadir Abdullahi, 28 of Rocheter, was arrested in September 2019. Law enforcement said he and Iman Abucar-Hagi Iman of Rochester shot a man several times at Meadow Park Apartments, leaving the man paralyzed after gunshots to the upper chest, back of the head, and below the knee. Iman has already pleaded guilty to that and shooting two other people. He was sentenced to 12 years and two months in prison. Abdullahi pleaded not guilty to 1st and 2nd degree attempted murder and 1st and 2nd degree assault in January 2020. The last hearing in his case was August 2020.

A judge ruled last month that Winona County officials’ bias “severely tainted” their decision to reject the Daley Farm’s expansion request, but how the court would resolve that issue ordering the county to reconsider the expansion or simply ordering the county to approve it remained up in the air. On Monday, the judge took the latter option and sent the Daleys’ petition back to the Winona County Board of Adjustment (BOA) for a fresh decision. In 2019, the Daley Farm sought a variance or an exception to the county’s animal unit cap in order to expand its Lewiston dairy farm. Winona County is one of the few counties in the state that limits the size of animal feedlots. The cap is set at 1,500 animal units (1,071 cows). The 23-year-old man has been held on $1.5 million unconditional bail since December 2019. 10:00 am, Jan. 21, 2021 × A Rochester man admitted Thursday morning that he repeatedly shot at another man in October 2019 after hearing a rumor that the man had sexually assaulted a female friend. Aries Nyee Candler, 23, pleaded guilty in Olmsted County District Court to a charge of drive-by shooting. Candler had been charged with first-degree attempted murder-premeditated, possession of a firearm-conviction or adjudicated delinquent for crime of violence, two counts of second-degree assault and an additional count of drive-by shooting for the October 2019 incident. According to the petition to enter a guilty plea, a joint sentencing recommendation would see Candler sentenced to 72-months in state prison.

Aries Nyee Candler, 23 of Rochester, entered a guilty plea Thursday to one count of drive-by shooting. He was arrested in December 2019 and charged with 1st degree attempted murder, two counts of drive-by shooting, two counts of 2nd degree assault, and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence. Rochester police said Candler drove up and shot at a male and female in the 1200 block of Turnberry Drive on October 29, 2019. Investigators said Candler kept shooting at the male victim as he ran away. A home in the area was struck by several bullets.
