Individual Arrested In Home Invasion

Effingham, IL / Effingham Radio Dec 23, 2020 5:11 PM Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- On 12/22/20 at 19:02, Effingham Police Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 100th block of Hendelmeyer Avenue regarding a home invasion.  Officers quickly arrived at the scene and determined a male subject had entered the garage while the resident was home. The homeowner confronted the suspected and sustained minor injuries because of the confrontation and later refused medical treatment. The resident fled the residence to call 911. Officers entered the residence and detained Dylan M. Hampton, 31, of Louisville.   Hampton was arrested for Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery and Possession of a  Controlled Substance and was incarcerated at the Effingham County Jail. The Effingham City Police are still investigating the incident but believe Hampton was acting alone.  

CASE UPDATE: SEDALIA MAN FACES DRUG RELATED FELONY FOLLOWING EXECUTION OF SEARCH WARRANT

A 37-year-old Sedalia man is facing a drug-related felony charge after the execution of a search warrant in October. A Sedalia Police report says at approximately 6:25 a.m. on October 23, an officer served a search warrant related to drug activity. Shamakeith Taylor was one of the persons on the premises. Officers say they located a container inside one of his shoes he was not wearing which contained four individual bags of a substance which tested to be methamphetamine. They also located a cell phone; a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue; sandwich-style baggies; and a digital scale. Taylor is charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and a drug-related misdemeanor. Taylor posted $10,000 surety bond on October 29.

ARIZONA WOMAN FACING DRUG, CHILD ENDANGERMENT CHARGES IN AREA COUNTY

A 43-year-old Tucson, Arizona, woman is facing multiple felony charges after a reported incident on March 4 in Concordia. A police report says an officer responded to a residence to assist medics with an overdosed patient. Central dispatch advised it was informed by the caller that the patient had overdosed on heroin. Melanie Hilbrenner met officers at the front door. Officers were taken to a man who was unresponsive. They also saw a loaded AR 15 rifle and large knives throughout the house within reach of a 6-year-old child. They also located drug-related items- including methamphetamine and heroin as well as several used syringe needles, two metal spoons with white residue and burn marks and a few baggies containing white residue.

DRIVER WHO LED AUTHORITIES ON HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT DUE IN COURT IN EARLY JANUARY

A 38-year-old Brookfield man facing multiple felony charges after he led authorities on a high-speed pursuit through multiple counties earlier this year is due in court early next year. A police report says just before 3 p.m. on February 11, 2020, Matthew Guilford, of Brookfield, was on the run from authorities, after they attempted to pull him over near Laclede. After traveling through Livingston, Carroll and Lafayette Counties, Guilford was stopped and taken into custody in Saline County. Guilford was wanted for a felony warrant out of Linn County, as well as a Federal Parole Violation warrant. Guilford is charged with a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree or Attempt; a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; Class E Felonies for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop by Fleeing and Resisting Arrest for a Felony; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action.

Instead, local drug dealers had to travel to Philadelphia to buy the drugs from J Philly for resale in Chester County, according to police investigators. The Chester County District Attorney s Office today announced the arrest of nine people charged in connection with trafficking large quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, and other drugs bought in Philadelphia and sold in Chester County.
