Bessemer woman, 58, killed in crash on I-459 in Hoover

Authorities have released the name of a woman killed in a Wednesday crash on Interstate 459 in Hoover.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Susan Renee Everett. She was 58 and lived in Bessemer.
Hoover police and fire medics responded at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 459 near the Interstate 65 interchange, said Capt. Keith Czeskleba. They arrived to find a four-door sedan off the right side of the road.
It appeared that the vehicle was traveling northbound on I-459 when it left the roadway and struck a concrete light pole. Everett was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:08 a.m.

BESSEMER Staff members at the William Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer found an inmate dead in his cell on Sunday morning.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the decedent as 48-year-old Collins McCaster, who was serving a life sentence for a 2013 strangulation death in Escambia County.

The coroner’s office says McCaster was found unresponsive in his private cell and was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates says there is no evidence of trauma and foul play is not expected.
The circumstances surrounding McCaster’s death are being investigated by the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Authorities say the club was well attended at the time of the incident, however there were no other injuries, Smiley said. The Homicide Unit is handling the investigation and believe both shootings took place inside the venue.”
Police have not confirmed whether Harlow was inside the nightclub at the time of the shooting, though video posted online claims to show Harlow inside the venue when gunfire rang out.
The owner of Vibes Restaurant and Ultra Lounge said he is not commenting on the case, but the business later released a statement on its social media channels.
