DeRosa holds the title of secretary to the governor. “Basically, we froze,” she said during a Feb. 10 teleconference with Democratic lawmakers, referring to providing data requested by the Legislature after the U.S. Justice Department inquired about similar data. “Because then we were in a position where we weren’t sure if what we were going to give to the Department of Justice, or what we give to you guys, what we start saying, was going to be used against us while we weren’t sure if there was going to be an investigation,” DeRosa said,according to audio recording of the call first obtained by the New York Post. “That played a very large role into this.”
