If one passionate belief has guided my 44-year career as a journalist, it is that everyone has a story - a story worth telling. Some folks can tell their own story just fine, thank you. While others may need a little help. It was thus a joy to sit down and talk recently with Lynn Helton, an intern with Gaston County Parks and Recreation, who shares my passion and who has designed a program to help some of Gaston County's older folks preserve their stories for posterity. "Passing on Your Legacy... One Word at a Time" is what Lynn is calling her plan for three writing sessions to be held May 7, 14, and 21 at the Gaston County Senior Center.
