area. see all of the bands feeding in from offshore bringing torrential rainfall, through the expanse of the precipitation shield. we are seeing wind at tropical storm force gusts. higher than that. so this is the worst of isaac. going to continue through the day. still a category 1 hurricane. gusts over 90 miles per hour. especially southeastern louisiana going forward here. storm surge in many spots, sick to nine feet. flooding rainfall. many spots over a foot of rain. this bull's eye, southern mississippi, southeastern louisiana, 15 inches-plus. the longer it sits here the heavier that rain will be. >> jim, i don't mean to catch you cold on this one, looking at tweets from colleagues in new orleans. apparently there was a 1:00 a.m. report out that said the system stalled over southeast louisiana, meaning parked over the area dumping even more rain. can you confirm that a little bit or talk about the rainfall totals, if this thing just happens to sit there for, for a while over that area? >> oh, yeah, like i said, it did make landfall and made a shift to the west/southwest
