nasa tweeted a picture of the shuttle on the launch pad in the middle of a lightning storm. in fact we have that for you. we're pulling that up. there's the lightning that's coming down. we've seen it before where lightning has actually hit the launch pad and that in and of itself has caused problems but in this case it's just a really incredible picture by nasa. but looking behind you in the live picture, jay, it looks like you again have clouds rolling in. was there some contsternation over the weather and whether the launch would take place because of that? >> reporter: that's true, contessa, because it has to do with the winds. right now the winds are right on the edge. they are very fast, around 26 knots. if they change directions as all, they couldn't lift off or even come back in case of emergency and land here on the shuttle landing strip. also, all three landing sites across the atlantic and france and spain, they're out at this time. they need at least one over
