reid made a statement that is true. somebody told him, it's a fact." i mean, why shouldn't we believe harry heed? i mean, he has said it. isn't it on the onus now of mr. governor romney to prove he has paid his taxes? >> well, absolutely the case. the issue before him is not harry reid that we're talking about here. we're talking about a man who wants to be the next president. show us your taxes so that we can see how you look at tax policy. are you all for reducing your taxes at every conceivable way even though you're a multimillionaire? that's not good tax policy for america. we need to understand this man and those tax returns will tell us what is on his mind with regard to tax policy, which is the number one issue in this campaign, tax policy. >> and, congressman, 61% by ppp polling, 61% of independent voters want to see the tax returns. gallup numbers, 54% of americans want to see romney returns. is this something that the democrats are going to ride all the way to the election?
