Updated Feb 15, 2021 | 17:17 IST It is a matter of tremendous satisfaction that the Special Cell of the Delhi Police has been able to apprehend the two main culprits, Deep Sidhu and Iqbal Singh. File picture  |  Photo Credit: PTI The mayhem and violence that took place in Delhi on January 26, 2021, was an eye-opener for the law enforcement agencies. The farmer leaders agreed to a 37-point agreement with the Delhi Police; it’s a different matter that they systematically breached it, clause by clause. Open defiance came about when a determined group of the agitators forcibly entered Delhi, much ahead of the scheduled time of the agitation; some converted the tractors into functional fighting machines, for attacking police personnel, barricades and police vehicles indiscriminately, in total disregard to the understanding and the assurance of a “peaceful” demonstration. It is clear that this was after meticulous planning, conspiracy and brazen criminality that they succeeded in hosting a particular flag atop the Red Fort.
