Trey: good evening and thanks for joining us. It's sunday night in america. Labor day is gone and debate is on the horizon and indicates the race between kamala harris and donald trump. Which issues drive turnout? policy versus personality? debate more important for president trump or vice president harris? candidates move towards the center in a general election, but kamala harris needs to move a lot to find this center. You can't see the center from san francisco, california. Which is why she's changed her position on several key issues and leads to credibility questions and should we believe the old kamala, new kamala or neither? there's no question i'm in favor of banning track. Do you still want to ban frack something no, and i made that clear on the debate stage in 2020. As vice president i did not ban fracking and as president i will not ban fracking. There's no question to critically reexamine ice and it is role and the way here going to probably think about starting from scratch. I believe there should be consequence. We have laws that have to be followed and enforced. That address and deal with people who cross our border illegally. Trey: that almost gave me vertigo. Donald trump escaped the senate in new york and he does face a significant gender gap. What's the state of the race in the final two months? kellyanne conway is a former top adviser to donald trump and jose is a former dnc press secretary. Welcome to you both. Kellyanne, pulling in area of expertise, it suggests a gender gap with trump trailing among women voters. Does he need to close the gap to win? can he and is it in order for a policy gap or personality gap? trey, thanks for having me and nice to be with you to want. The fact is the gender gap was a challenge for a republican candidates among women for many decades. My first job, $8 an hour, was for ronald reagan's pollster and my assignment was the gender gap when i got there. This has gone on for awhile and with donald trump, there's two gender gaps and kamala harris and democrats problem with men. The new york times sienna poll out today shows that donald trump is leading harris by 16 points among men and leading him among women and donald trump lost to women and he'll run up the totals among women and men. Kamala harris has tafanely hard time attracting male voters onto flip plopping and radical agenda and lack of assuring them they'll be more prosperous and more opportunities and more secure under harris and administration. We women like everybody in cohort are not monolet's ick and i like to think from monolithic and above my waist where my eyes and ears and heart, my brain and my big mouth are. If president trump talking about every day affordability and war security and no new wars are brought and threatening nuclear devastation and hurting our allies in the middle east and elsewhere. Bloodshed in ukraine and israel and women care about fairness and kamala harris talking about equity, equity, equity and women talk about fairness and don't think they should pay for the student loans and men shouldn't be in girl's sports and 10 million illegals coming here on harris' watch is fair. They see them on the television getting cash and cell phones and clothing and hotel rooms and they say that's not fair. Hey trey: jose, kamala harris isn't the first moving towards this and no cops and no worder ball and no fracking and death row inmates to vote? that's a great question and no question that any democrat will go towards the center and the debate having a good grasp of the candidates and first and foremost talking about the way she's been able to reenergize the party. Kamala harris raised triple what donald trump did in august. That's agued sign and sizes of the ground going to the rallies are and it's beautiful turnover margin it's not going to be won by that. Every poll in america, be careful of the way you're reading the polls and it's a close election and every poll in election in 2016 said hillary clinton was going to be president ask clearly she wasn't. I hope kamala harris learned the lesson and not too worried about the evolution of the candidates and shifting policies, we're not talking about kamala harris as a senator or vice president. We're talking about president kamala harris. It's a whole different ball game. Kamala harris and joe biden might be from the same party, but they're very different when it comes to choices and she's more pro crypto currency and it's hilarious that donald trump said he wanted to invite elon musk to have an agency to audit the government. They should audit donald trump because he's bankrupt several companies. They're tired of joe biden and tired of donald trump and they want someone new and the new change they're going to look for is kamala harris. Trey: kellyanne, trying to be fair. I'm going to try and be fair. I've got one more question for you and i've got to fit it in in two minutes. Kellyanne, notwithstanding the fact that women voters care about a lot of issues. There is a ballot amendment in florida that uses word viability. If donald trump is asked on tuesday night, his definition of viability, what will he say? i discussed with him directly and he'll say what he always says. He broke no news and he's long said six weeks is too early in his view and that anything after 20 weeks is too late and signed a presidential statement through omb saying as much. So viability is past that and 24 weeks or so. There's also an escape clause n in florida like michigan where you can get a note from a medical portional for a abortion past viability. Donald trump said at kamala harris you're in 39 weeks and going for up till the moment of birth including california. It's liberal provisive policy. Babies being born in kamala harris' california, and your south carolina at 23, 24, 25 weeks. They are surviving and thriving. Let's have a science conversation about viability. Thank god medical and health interventions and scientific interventions mean the babies are living. He can talk about that too, but she's the radical on abortion. Abortion anyone, any tim, anywhere. No restrictions or regulations. That's not what most american women want. Trey: kamala harris voted for banning partial birth abortions and when does life and due process begin according to her? she's talked about issue with liberals in new york and i know republicans love to remind people no, democrats want to make sure that would get a democrat through the first trimester and not guilty past that. Kelly, you know that's not true. First out of all, i'm sorry. I can't have you lie on the set hawaii is the law in california and new york? do you know what the law is in california and new york, new jersey, illinois,? it is not 8 or 12 weeks, sir. Trey: fox doesn't give me a two hour somehow. It's just one hour. Thank you both for joining us on a sunday night and love to have you both back. Thank you. Trey: how do republicans win in blue states in ask someone that's done it. New hampshire governor chris sununu. Welcome, governor. How many undecided voters are left and what do you think they'll be looking for on tuesday night? we're very results driven when it comes to politics and high voter turnout and given that kamala is just really effectively going to enter this race and honeymoon just getting over and it's not the economy and it's the cost of living and i encourage the former president donald trump to focus on that and the rent and cost of groceries fuel paying electric bill and they're all having to have the credit card bills coming over the next couple of months and that drive as lot of families anxiety coming to the ballot box and new hampshire we're fiscally responsible. We're very fiscally sound and have a great record of success. It's top president trump to highlight that in the debate and many folks watching in the next coming days. Trey: 6, 8, 12% at least are undied decided in the race in new hampshire. Trey: everything you mentioned i consider a substantive issue and it's not personal, it's policy. Biden won georgia and both u. S. Senators are democrat and georgia has a popular republican governor brian kemp. Where is the political wisdom and attacking brian kemp in a must win state for republicans? yeah, there's no wisdom and hope for the former president to backtrack and i think brian did a fundraiser for him recently and the former president is trying his best to patch those things up. Brian is incredible, governor. He's an incredible guy. And he's super popular for a reason and expecting the heck out of it for them. Coming from georgia and i believe the voter turnout a bit higher than normal and they'll look to brian and see where he goes and when parties show they're not fractured, it's not just on the issue and shows they're not voting into something where this fracturing in party sexuals and all that thing. The republican sr. Squabbles and all that and the democrat party iscosming apart on the scene seams and a presidential candidate with a history of doing one thing and saying another and all over the place and consistency wins and the republican party has been very consist on what they're focusing on and that's you and not the government. That's empowering to a lot of people of the country if the trey: would you advise the former president to use surrogates like nikki haley and elise stefanik and other women to make the case for him? i'm a big believer and that's fine. I'm a big believer that as a candidate you have to defeat it and make the case yourself. And the issues that drill a lot of gender gaps in 2020 and in 2022 and the fear mongering the democrats were trying to push and that's been settled down and i think the former president has a opportunity there and always going to be a bit of it but nothing he can't do himself and that's him in 2024. Chris sununu from the great state of new hampshire. Thank you for joining us on a sunday night. Trey: welcome back to sunday night in america. Life doesn't seem complete without the threat of another government shutdown. House republicans are willing to keep government funded but they want you to prove you're a citizen before you vote. And control of the house will likely come down to districts in a few states and safe districts are making most of the noise. We have olivia beavers covering congress for politico. Welcome, olivia. Wonderful to see you always. Listen to sentenced torr john cornyn and ask you about it on the other side. In the same world in a sane world saying that could be noncontroversial. It's essentially a national voter id, and i would think both parparties and everybody would e interested in protecting the integrity of the ballot and people are legally qualified to vote and do so. It's become a partisan issue, which is amazing to me. Talking to house democrats and what's radical about showing proof of citizenship to vote? we have touchdown pass apply for loans and a whole host of other things. What's so radical about doing it to vote according to them? they describe it as it's already the law and you have to be a citizen in order to vote in federal law. Federal elections. , but they see it as sort of a republican party tactic just before the election seeing chuck schumer saying we're not going to support it and democrats are not supposed to support it in the house and that's what you're going to see with republicans running on in this upcoming election. Types that are on the border and he has some of his own problems repeatedly throughout their time in congress and the party leaderships do. Trey: if mike johnson wants to be speaker again, there's going to be lots of demands placed on him by the right flank. Why the difference and what progress of those that ousted kevin mccarthy made in getting their spending cuts. We were curious about the similar left side and going for the party suicide and in the way that republicans are really willing to just go till the end fighting and reaction and left that the squad members dismiss and going to be on the tactics and pressuring their party leadership. You were there too and they believe they're fighting if you're going to hear a lot and fight them to have them even if it means possibly putting the moderates in really uncomfortable positions just before an election. Trey: olivia beavers, thank you for joining us on the show on a sunday night. Thanks, trey. Trey: coming up, two threats to the country, election interference and biased referees.
