After 20 years of war, America is tired and in need of domestic reforms ― Osama bin Laden was not a dumb man. He recognized that any strike on America would cause it to lash out in anger and that's what we did. He baited an America high on the hubris of winning the Cold War into entering into a conflict in which its technological prowess would be negated, in a mountainous land awash in guns, the only thing that could put an end to local infighting was an outsider.
