Guernsey Power Station slated to be fully operational in December 2022
The construction of the $1.6 billion facility will generate $350 million in labor income
Full commercial operation at the Guernsey Power Plant south of Byesville is approximately a year-and-a-half away.
The plant is scheduled to begin full operation in December 2022, according to Mitch Garber, senior vice president of engineering and project management for Caithness Energy.
"I'm really proud of that with everything that is going on in the world," said Garber. "Our original completion date was Oct. 15. With everything that is going on, it has cost us less than two months. They guys on site have worked really hard to keep things going while keeping people safe and healthy. We are really proud of that."
