Is being 'Locked Up Abroad' any worse than being locked up at home?
At the beginning of this year, I wrote a column about the National Geographic channel series Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller. The column focused on fentanyl, known by some as “the most dangerous drug in America.” In that article, I mentioned my affinity for the National Geographic channel’s programming. Specifically, I referred to Locked Up Abroad as one of my favorite entries in television’s general “crime” genre. I reflected on the fact that I have yet to cover that series in the four or so years I’ve been writing this column. Spoiler alert: That’s about to change.
