New York Jets assistant coach Greg Knapp dies age 58 after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bike over the weekend
New York Jets passing-game specialist Greg Knapp, 58, died Thursday at John Muir Health Medical Center in Walnut Creek, Calif
 
The former 49ers and Raiders assistant coach died due to injuries he sustained after he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle Saturday afternoon
He suffered major head and body injuries and never regained consciousness 
The news was delivered by Knapp's agent Jeff Sperbeck and his friend, Chicago Bears assistant coach Clancy Barone 
Knapp was preparing to fly to New Jersey to work with the New York Jets as their passing game coordinator under new coach Robert Saleh
