the san rafael bridge is getting hit pretty hard right now. >> we have a look at some of the other cameras around the bay. you can see pretty slick conditions on the bay bridge and the golden gate right now for you drive home. traffic is moving nicely though. we have a look at at sfo. weather is having an impact on flights tonight. there have been more than 300 delays and about 40 cancellations. >> brian is joining us with high desktop. the system is starting to taper off but we do have some changes. >> we do and it will allow us to dry out a little bit but there is more rain on the way. you can see in the north bay it really does not want to quit raining. it is raining mostly on the fish in san francisco bay but a little bit on the east bay shoreline as well. the showers are mostly light and they have not even reached the santa clara valley. the big green blob that you see to the left is just at higher elevations. down in the valley it is not. that has been the case since it started raining. santa rosa has about 4/10. napa picked up about the same. by the time he had san francisco just seven hundredths of an inch. tomorrow we will head out with fog and mostly cloudy skies. in general the tendency will be toward more sun coming out on wednesday. to sum it up showers are heading south and east. fog will form overnight and there is more rain on the way. we 440 people are second and nine have died. the first u.s. case has been confirmed in washington state. is at sfo one of just five airports accepting direct flights from wuhan, china where the outbreak reporter: the first case has hit the u.s. soil. a man in his 30s returned last week from wuhan and began noticing symptoms. >> i am thankful that the man that tested positive for the virus acted so quickly and sought treatment. his actions give us a head start. >> reporter: on the ground in wuhan cut the city's fish market that is believed to be the epicenter crews are sanitizing streets and passengers are having the temperature taken as a cases have popped up in china, thailand, south korea, and japan. >> we do not know very much about this virus. >> reporter: it has sickened 440 and killed nine people so far. >> we know that it can spread among humans from person-to- person but is it frequent? is it common? that is something that we do not know quite yet. >> reporter: screenings for the virus so far at sfo have been confined to customs on planes arriving from wuhan and passengers connecting from there. we have a call into the cdc to see if there are going to begin screening passengers coming in from other parts of china at the major hubs like shanghai and beijing. so far we have not heard back. >> thank you. right now the city of campbell is getting ready to vote whether 58-year-old homeless woman was the victim in yesterday's hit and run in berkeley. her name has not yet been released. she was hit on the sidewalk near university avenue by a suspect that police were trying to pull over. the driver is still on the run tonight. the housing solution is finally moving forward in the south bay. some tiny cabins could be screwed springing up along highway 101. len ramirez explains how the city of san jose is teaming up with caltrans to try to get people off the streets. >> reporter: the deal is finally done. san jose will lease the property from the state of california for one dollar per month. >> reporter: there are dozens of homeless encampments of relining felipe avenue and surrounding streets. the people that are living alongside piles of traffic trash and filth. >> this is the major city in the united states so whatever anybody wants to say this is not a solution. >> reporter: it is steps away from what could be a solution. tiny homes for the homeless to be built and run on this land in between and underneath the ramps. >> they are going to put them on the street anyway. >> reporter: this doctor said that he's glad an idea he has been pushing will finally become a reality. >> the land can be sanitized that is as it were and state owned are advocates like myself and others can help build the community and we can avoid this kind of mess. >> reporter: the department has in memo details the the plan. sleepy cabins which are already preparing build on site will be moved to there soon. >> they would have a stable roof over their head and adore that they can unlocked. >> reporter: it will be considered bridge housing, not permanent housing. the city of san jose said they will begin installing water and power lines soon. coming inch in the south bay. in san francisco just add a little bit of water to the runway and you get more than 300 delays which is what happened at sfo today. it is still for slick right now. in san francisco it has tumbled into the mid-50s. the height of doppler shows not too much left behind. this week cold front has press south of the bay area and there's still some light showers there from american canyon through napa. over at the east bay shoreline the streets are slick and some light rain is falling but in the south bay not much at all. you can see over skyline they have some rain unwinding over the coast. that brings out all of the moisture and there is nothing left for sunnyvale. the low pressure is producing showers and rain that will be raining for the next several days. it is because the flow off of the pacific is taken that moisture into the pacific northwest. for us high pressure builds an and isis out. still we have a problem out by the shore. the sneaker waves threat rip current risk is in effect through tomorrow morning at 9 am. as for what is next high pressure builds in. not dramatically but enough to dry it out the next shot of rain is coming in on sunday. dense fog will be a problem tonight and tomorrow morning with the moisture and cooling temperatures. a few lingering showers drying out tomorrow it will be drive through saturday. the next year the rain moves in on sunday. that will be windier and a little bit wetter as well. overnight lows will be in the mid 40s. san jose is 45 and napa is 42. forecast highs for tomorrow find most of them in the mid to upper 50s with slick streets in the early going. 58 degrees at mountain view tomorrow. morgan hill is up to 60 degrees. over at the shoreline a few more light showers and for tomorrow increasing sunshine and. san ramon which picked up 100 of an inch of rain from this we will have 59 tomorrow. up in the north bay we will see mid 50s and it will be drying out. not brilliant sunshine but we will have some sun and clouds. the same for ukiah and lakeport. the next shot of rain comes in on sunday between now and then class from time to time. after sunday there is not much in the rain at all. the really extended forecast is showing that when we go dry next monday we will stay that way pretty much for the entirety of next week. here is what you missed if you are just reporting a huge drop in violent crime. there were 41 homicides last year. that is the lowest number since 1961 robberies, assaults, and sex crimes were also down. one of the city's biggest issues, relationships is so important. that's why the strategies focus on prevention rather than reaction. >> police are investigating an alleged battery regarding former nfl star antonio brown. his home in
