Home rule, quality of life in jeopardy
The proliferation of short-term rentals and/or Airbnb's is slowly eroding the quality of life in residential neighborhoods in Brevard County.
Our neighborhood in South Cocoa Beach has already experienced disturbances at all hours of the night during the work week. This is not only an infringement upon our right to peace and quiet, but is also a security and safety issue.
HB 219 and SB 522 are backed by powerful lobbyists. If passed, they will continue to allow out of state corporations and absent home owners to destroy the sanctity of our neighborhoods and our quality of life. Our homes are not only our sanctuary, but our biggest investment.
