Don’t want to talk about race, politics or religion? Try talking about self-checkout kiosks at stores. I hadn’t thought it was much of an issue until recently when Maggie Stasonis-Enderle said in a Facebook group she didn’t like the two lines/six kiosks she noticed recently at Publix on Miracle Mile in Vero Beach. They're in addition to a slew of counters with cashiers. More than 250 comments later on the “I remember Vero Beach when and now” group and it’s pretty clear the topic — whether the self-checkouts are at Publix, Walmart, Home Depot or anywhere else — can be polarizing.
