New 'normals': Weather is getting progressively warmer in Topeka, nationwide

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration last week put this graphic on its website illustrating how the 30-year temperature averages for the period from 1991 to 2020 compare to the averages for the years 1901 to 2000 throughout the continental United States.
Average temperatures are rising in Topeka, though not as much as they are nationally, newly released figures show.
As it does every 10 years, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration last week put out statistics showing average temperatures and precipitation amounts over the past 30 years taken at its more than 9,000 reporting stations nationwide.
