View Comments Facing a life alone after their habitat mates died, Lilly and Vermouth, two primates from opposite sides of the country, have found each other by fate at the Phoenix Zoo. Lilly, who is 10, and Vermouth, almost 10, are callimico monkeys (pronounced cal-i-mee-co), also known as Goeldi's monkeys or Goeldi's marmosets. The zoo's most recent primate additions can be seen in a new exhibit on the Children’s Trail. The monkeys came to the zoo separately. Lilly came from Fresno Chaffee Zoo in California and Vermouth came from St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park in Florida. According to Mary Yoder, collection manager of primates at the Phoenix Zoo, the pair bonded right away.
