As the founder and director of the Rep. Edith Nourse Rogers National Commission on Women Veterans & The U.S. International Institute on Veteranthropology & Women Veterans Studies, a national civic public service intelligence research, analysis and veterans studies initiative, I would like to encourage all American veterans-scholars, especially those who are women veterans and/or any veterans who have used the G.I. Bill; or are currently using any variation of the G.I. Bill, to pause and take a moment on Sunday, Sept. 10, to thank heaven for U.S. Rep. Edith Nourse Rogers from Lowell for her proactive vision and advocacy role in birthing the professional craft of compassion-based veteranthropology.
