Six New LNG Powered Box Ships to Serve the US West Coast
French Container Line Continues Environmental Efforts
FRANCE – US – CHINA – The CMA CGM group, which already runs 12 LNG-powered containerships, is to dedicate six new 15,000 TEU vessels to its Pearl River Express (PRX) line, which sails from China to the Port of Los Angeles.
The first of these new vessels is due for delivery in October 2021, with all ships to be fully operational by the end of 2022. CMA CGM says the move means American customers will be able to choose to transport their goods using LNG, a new technology that helps to preserve air quality by eliminating almost all atmospheric pollutants.
