The proposed Sizewell C site The government is set to restart talks with EDF over plans to build a multi-billion-pound nuclear facility at Sizewell C in Suffolk, with the possibility of the state taking a direct financial stake in its construction. The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) revealed the intention to enter negotiations on the project in its new Energy White Paper, adding that it would only commit to the project if a value-for-money deal could be agreed. The department said the project was one available option to allow the government to deliver on its commitment to enable investment in at least one nuclear power station by the end of this parliamentary term.
