Cortney White On Saturday night, several runners achieved Olympic and Olympic Trials standards at the Sound Running Invite. Emily Sisson and Grant Fisher won the women’s and men’s 5,000-meters, respectively, leading ten total runners under the Olympic standard for the event. In the 1500 meters, Sinclaire Johnson won the women’s race, with a U.S. Olympic Trials standard, and Josh Kerr won the men’s race. Nia Akins and Josh Hoey crossed first in the women’s and men’s 800 meters, respectively. In the latest COVID-adjusted meet geared towards helping runners achieve qualifying standards, the Sound Running Invite featured several career bests and barrier-breaking performances.
