There’s plenty of examples to pick from – be it trade fights, exchanges of insults between leaders, and hot-mic incidents – illustrating the divide between the Trudeau government and the Trump administration. But it’s all supposed to change, starting tomorrow. However, while Joe Biden’s inauguration represents a symbolic moment of reset for the traditional allies – the start to “a new chapter,” as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called it today – a decision still looms for the president-elect of whom will occupy a role critical to the countries’ cooperation, that of selecting a nominee to be the next U.S. ambassador to Canada.
