shooting was spread over that long period of time. and during those moments, many of the people who were inside the area, around that point in the parking lot where the shooting took place, scrambled, running inside department stores, hiding in the back storage areas, and that's where many people sought shelter and sat there and waited. several people have told us they were in those areas for an hour an a half, almost close to two hours as they waited for law enforcement teams to come through each of the stores, clearing out the scenes, securing the areas, and then being escorted through the parking lot, away from the outlet mall with their hands up in the air. again, the crowds that are out here this afternoon have thinned out a little bit. many of these people had to leave the scene without their belongings, obviously their cars. this is the -- paula, the back part, the western side of the outlet mall, and it is, you know, a shopping area where everything kind of feeds into a
