fireworks show at the nearby burj went on with this inferno next door a little over an hour ago. let's get right to cnn's becky anderson. she's in dubai. becky, is there any new information as to what caused this fire? >> what we are being told by sources is that a curtain in a room on the 20th floor of this hotel caught alight. and caused the hotel to effective effectively go up in flames. the hotel now is 90% contained so far as authorities are concerned. it is now just after 1:00 in the morning here. and this fire broke out at only 9:35 p.m. only two and a half hours before the huge firework display just a kilometer or so away was due to take place. and indeed did go on.
