ann, wow. a heck of a show. good morning, everybody. in the headlines, ten russian spies are on their way home this morning, less than two weeks after they were arrested, the agents were thought to be aboard a plane that rendezvoused in vienna with another plane from russia as they re part of the deal the russians handed over four people imprisoned as western spies. more than 80 people arrested in oakland, california, after a former white transit officer was convicted of involuntary manslaughter thursday in the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man in 2009. prosecutors wanted a murder conviction. there was a happy homecoming thursday for 4-year-old alisa mayier. she returned to her home three days after being kidnapped from her front yard. it s been five weeks now since the disappearance of 7-year-old kyron horman in portland, oregon. nbc s kate snow has more on the investigation and what the family is saying. kate, go morning. reporter: it s not clear just the family but police believe that kyron s stepmother, terri, had something to do with his disappearance. meantime, his biological parents are coming forward again putting pressure on that stepmother to tell the truth. i can t say it enough that kyron is still out there and he needs to be home, and it s extremely frustrating that she is not cooperating. reporter: kyron s mom, desiree young, is clearly fed up. more than a week ago she and kyron s dad, kaine horman, called on the boy s stepmother to talk to investigators. do you think that terri has more information than she has told investigators so far? yes. reporter: specific information? yes. reporter: about where kyron is? yes. reporter: and feeding their anger, deep suspicion about terri horman, kyron s stepmom, the last known person to see the 7-year-old when she dropped kyron off at a school science fair. on thursday a judge unsealed court records that gave kaine horman a restraining order against terri, his wife, a former body building champion. in the documents kaine horman says police have given him probable cause to believe terri is involved in the disappearance of my son, kyron, and, he says, police told him terri attempted to hire someone to murder me. this blind sided us. reporter: kaine says he was stunned when investigators told him they believed last fall terri offered to pay a large sum to a landscaper if he would kill kaine. he thought he had a loving marriage with the typical ups and downs. i didn t believe it at first. reporter: and now kaine and desiree question what else the woman who once spent every day taking care of kyron might be capable of. do you think she is capable of hurting a child? if you had asked me before this situation, my answer is no. based on what i know now, i don t know. reporter: capable of hurting kyron? i think anything is possible based on the way things have gone over the past few weeks. reporter: desiree, the same question. do you think she might be capable of hurting him? i would hope that someone who is a mother wouldn t be able to do something like that, but when i look in her eyes, i m not confident that she wouldn t do something. reporter: it s quite a change from the unified front they struck the first time the family went public a month ago, a week after kyron first disappeared. terri and desiree were side-by-side but look closely and you can see desiree sense up when terri puts an arm around her. desiree now says she had a strange feeling of mother s instinct that perhaps terri knew more than she was letting on even back on the day desiree got the call from school saying kyron was missing. i immediately called terri and i cussed a little bit, said what the hell is going on? and she said that they went to the science fair and everything was fine and she waved good-bye to him and he went into his class, or so she thought, but he was marked absent at 10:00. reporter: did you believe her? i don t think i can comment on that because it s part of the investigation, but there was something in my gut that just didn t feel good. reporter: on thursday kaine horman also asked a court to evict terri so that he could move back into the family home they once shared with kyron and their 19-month-old daughter. kyron will be home at some point. he should be able to come home and walk into his room and feel like he s back where he belongs. reporter: they still have plans for summer vacation with kyron. we have a houseboat reserved for august and he s going to be home for that. reporter: desiree and kaine told me that they still have reason to believe kyron is alive, although they say they don t want to say what that reason is, lester, because it might impede the investigation. lesser? scott, thanks. lindsay lohan s attorney was one of her biggest advocates defending her in court this week when a judge sentenced low han to 90 days in jail. on thursday she suddenly resigned. what now for the troubled actress? here s nbc s lee cowan. that s 90 days in jail. reporter: lindsay lohan lost her public shoulder to cry on and most ardent public defender, shawn chapman holley. as her attorney, holley s been at lohan s side through the cheers and jeers arguing passionately this week against lohan s 90 days in jail. she has done far more than she has not done, far more. reporter: but she now tells nbc news she is giving up the fight and is resigning as loh lohan s attorney. she wouldn t give a reason but offered some parting words. in a written statement, holley called the judge s sentence harsh and unfair suggesting as a celebrity lohan got far worse than she deserved. lohan clearly wasn t happy with the sentence and perhaps wasn t happy with her attorney either. she already has another lawyer lined up who is reportedly trying to appeal the judge s sentence, a long shot at best. the chances of her getting this case overturned on appeal are somewhere between slim and none and closer to none. reporter: steve, a defense attorney himself, says the judge has every reason for her sentence. lohan has certainly been testing the court s patience including a recent no-show at a manndatory probation hearing. she is ordered to be here at 8:30. she s not here. there is really no valid excuse. it s not that long. it s really not that long. reporter: leaf garrett knows all about jail time and celebrity. the 70s teen idol has had his fair share of legal problems lately. he served 90 days himself for drug possession and says his star status did nothing. lindsay, he says, has it better than she knows. she got really lucky with being able to take two weeks to be able to get her affairs in order and then go in. reporter: chances are lohan probably won t even serve the full 90 days. she can get as much as a third lopped off her sentence just for good behavior. 90 days doesn t mean she ll do 90 days. it means she ll do 25 to 40 days or something in that neighborhood. reporter: if she does file an appeal, lohan may succeed in at least putting off her time behind bars, but most agree it will probably just delay the inevitable. for today, lee cowan, nbc news, los angeles. up next, if you ve always dreamed of a house with a big pool or maybe on a private lake, we ll show you some homes that get you closer to the water. and getting those flat, toned abs for summer without doing all those crunches, oh, boy. how much does that add to the cost of the home? how much it adds depends on how much water. if you re on a lake it could add 25%. if you re on a big ocean, you could double the value of your home over the neighbor right behind you. we think that stuff is going to cost maybe millions but you found a house in watkinsville, georgia, for $319,000. it has a little waterfront. it has a little waterfront and a pretty home to go with it. watkinsville is a small town with a great labor pool. it s not in the middle of nowhere. it has holiday parades and a.m. if i theateat amphitheaters. everything is meticulously maintained. the kitchen is fully renovated, the master bedroom has high ceilings, wood molding throughout, meticulous condition. that s just a little extra patio with the fireplace in the backyard plus that little actually they use that as a storage shed but it is a garage. smack in the middle of your backyard. pretty little house. and affordable. and you don t think, moving on, about waterfront in maybe arizona but you have one in peoria, arizona, for $324,000. you can find waterfront anywhere in the u.s. because people dream about it, they buy it, and builders build what people dream about. this back side of the house with the double garage right there. wait until you see what goes in that backyard. that is a beautiful salt water pool. it has a big covered patio, that s a fenced-in diving pool and a rock water fall. i don t know if you saw a peek of that. inside the house, all beautifully maintained wood throughout the house. that s the dining room, believe it or not. the man put his foot down in this house and he said put in a billiard table. works against the value of the house, i believe. but, still, what s wrong with that? what did they do? they were like, you can t keep shooting here, have your guns out. your fake guns have to go away during the g-20 summit. it s cool you re on usa. they ve had such a string of hits. it has to be a really neat thing to do your first tv series. and they re supporting character driven drama. to have writeers that talented and supports that new programming especially led by a woman for this show. it s been really fun and exciting. with that intensity, in terms of the story, where does your cake ter go? you talk about her first day. well, one of the things about the show, it s a balance between spy and intrigue and also what it s like when you go home at night. if you re a cia agent, what do you tell your boyfriend you do for a living?
