the hospital with serious injuries. conflicting reports are emerging about a young man killed during a domestic dispute with his own father. some friends call matthew price a good guy. >> however, price was a registered sex offender. are the two related? we have more on the shooting. >> reporter: it is not clear if matthew price was naked when he left the apartment he shared with his father for the last time. but witnesses say that is how he was found steps from his front door. montgomery county police say he was shot to death by his own father, a security guard. >> a whole bunch of a cossey with police and ambulance and firefighters. >> reporter: 23-year-old matthew eugene price was shot in the chest just before 9:00 p.m. saturday. >> the body was found naked in the middle of the parking lot. unfortunately, little kids saw him and found him. >> reporter: the victim's father, 55-year-old wayne price, admitted to shooting his son during an argument. matthew price was a registered sex offender. he was convicted of forced sex with a victim between the ages of 14 and 15 in new jersey in 2009. >> we have little kids roaming around the neighborhood, every single complex is filled with little kids. i mean, i wouldn't why would you allow somebody with that background? >> that background shocked an old high school friend of wayne who was paying his respects at the spot where the 23-year-old asked his life. he asked us not to show his face or name. >> reporter: you have teared in your eyes. >> he was a real good friend. we had a respect for each other. >> reporter: do you know how he was getting along with his dad? >> i don't. from what i seen, respected his rules. >> reporter: we are hearing he might have had problems as a registered sex offender. did you know that? >> i didn't know nothing about that. >> reporter: montgomery county police would not comment on police's status as a registered sex offender. the information about matthew price's sex offender status was obtained from maryland's department of public safety and corrections. police are searching for a hit and run driver who killed a man this weekend. 28-year-old samuel diaz was hit by an suv as he tried to cross the 2400 block of university boulevard saturday night. diaz died at a hospital. the vehicle was silver with front end damage. anyone with information is asked to call police. parishioners at st. peter church are mourning the loss of their pastor. mary margaret rohit kahn died after being taken off life support. she is the second victim that died after a gunman shot at that church. >> investigators believe the homeless man became angry after he was told to limit his visits to the pantry. as sue reign ray chin -- sue ray chin -- sue rae chin reports. >> you can never take the spirit out of the church. >> reporter: eugene taylor sutton was brought in to lead the private service after thursday's shooting. he said the parish is dealing with a swirl of emotions from compassion to anger after douglas jones killed the church secretary brenda brewington and mary margaret rohit cohen. >> we remember their suffering. >> in the act of giving, they were in all likelihood, taking this man down to the food pantry. it turned, just like that. >> reporter: the church says they told the gunman they could no longer provide food every day, but just once a week, because there were so many families in need. the church's long tradition of providing for the poor will not end because of this tragedy. >> we will not help the poor and needy from behind bulletproof glass. >> reporter: the reverend's last wish was to donate her organs. the church says even in death their beloved priest will continue to give life. funeral services for the reverend will be tomorrow at the cathedral of the
