weather across the country. starting with the heat we're looking at 84 million people impacted by heat alerts today. in the west, inner mountain west, south central states, we're going to break records once again. excessive heat warnings are posted for las vegas, pasadena, phoenix, monroe, louisiana, and jacksonville, florida. and warm into the southeast and factor in the humidity and feel like over 100 degrees. today tallahassee, 99. 105 in austin, and that will probably tie a record there. 98 degrees in jackson, 99 in new orleans. the west, we're going to break some records as well today and over the weekend. 106 today in portions of of california. 113 in las vegas, 118 in phoenix. this will probably tie a record of 118 there. 107 in el paso. and take a look at these number as we go throughout the weekend, that heat is staying put. las vegas 111 on sunday. tracking storms and relative to heavy rains and thunderstorms with heavy downpours.
