Almost everything has changed for students except one thing, students still have to answer 108 questions on the dreaded fafsa form, federal aid application for pell grants and Student Loans to help go to college. For years now ive carried around the fafsa as a prop to make the case for simplifying it, but its no joke, especially this year. Many students are questioning their investment in a College Education at a time when many classes are only offering online courses, many of low income students w ....

That being the case it is always refreshing to find one whose impact with the proportion to the length and have to and the Tipping Point is one of those books with from time to time a work appears that acts as a decongestant for the brain , one strong spray and the intellectual passages clear up even if they were blocked in the first place. City college is in very dire straights. The board of trustees and administration have made massive class cuts including the almost complete disruption of the older adults program. Three hundred classes cut last fall. Five hundred in the year before. This year, huge cuts in the esl program. Campuses are closing. Now theres to be another cut to existing use and potential growth including Affordable Housing and other uses by city college. We urge you to consider that many of the staff and teachers of city college are opposed to this as well. I would lake to bring your attention to two letters that were recently sent to the committee.
