With government spending surpassing $21,000 per household for thefirst time since World War II and the budget deficit approaching $400 billion, the $90 billion corporate welfare budget provides anobvious starting point for identifying and reducing wastefulspending. An encouraging first step would be to defund the AdvancedTechnology Program in the upcoming Commerce-Justice-Stateappropriations bill.
