Cunningham Wins ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year; Eight Noles Named to Academic All-ACC Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Eight Noles were recognized for their achievements on and off the track this past indoor season. Trey Cunningham was named the ACC Men's Indoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the third straight year. Cunningham is the first track and field athlete in ACC history to win the award in three straight seasons. Cunningham was also one of eight athletes named to the Academic All-ACC team. Cunningham and Odiong Crowned ACC Champions

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Trey Cunningham and Edidiong Odiong each took home ACC individual titles on the final day of the ACC Indoor Championships in Blacksburg, Va. The men finished second with 72 points while the women finished seventh with 43 points. "We had a pretty good day today," Head Coach Bob Braman said. "Edidiong and Trey both had phenomenal days. We had some bad luck, and we were missing a few key people, but overall, I'm proud of our squad." Cunningham earned his fifth-straight ACC title in the 60m hurdles dominating the field with a time of 7.42. Cunningham became the first collegiate athlete to run 7.42 or faster three separate times. Cunningham ran 7.42 at the Tyson Invitational and 7.40 in the preliminary race yesterday. Odiong had a phenomenal day, as she took home the gold medal in the 200m dash with a time 23.36. Odiong also finished second in the 60m dash with a time 7.29. Odiong was awarded the Women's Track Most Valuable Performer.

Grimes and Davis Take Silver and Bronze on Day Two of ACC Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Isaac Grimes and Jeremiah Davis capped off an exciting day for the Florida State track and field on day two of the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Overall, 10 Noles qualified for finals  in their respective events. The men sit in fifth with 20 points while Alonie Sutton tallied three points for the Noles in the long jump. "Overall, it was a solid day for both squads," Head Coach Bob Braman said. "We had some home run, and we had some hard luck. We have a chance to contend for the men's title, but it will take a near perfect day." Grimes put himself in prime position to compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships after a a 7.91m jump to take silver in the event. Davis finished third with a season-best jump of 7.79m. Three Noles Win Titles at South Carolina Indoor Open

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Florida State track and field team went three-for-three today at the UofSC Indoor Open on Friday as Jacore Irving, Jeremiah Davis and Alonie Sutton each won individual titles. Davis started the day off on a high note for the Noles in the long jump. Davis posted a season-best mark of 7.70m to win the event. Davis' mark is the fifth-best mark in the ACC this season. It was a great day for Jeremiah. We haven't had him this healthy in awhile, and now he has put himself in position to possibly make nationals, Head Coach Bob Braman said.

FSU Jumpers Travel to South Carolina for Indoor Open

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State jumpers Jacore Irving, Jeremiah Davis and Alonie Sutton will each be traveling to Columbia, S.C., for the UofSC Indoor Open on Friday. Davis will compete in the long jump at 10 a.m. while Irving and Sutton will compete in the triple jump at 2 p.m. Live results can be found at https://results.adkinstrak.com/meets/12373. Sutton and Irving will each try to improve their marks in the triple jump this weekend. Sutton's best jump this season came at the Clemson Opener, where she finished first in the event with a mark of 12.86m. Irving's best jump also came at the Clemson Opener where he tallied the ninth-farthest jump in school history with a mark of 15.84m. Irving almost broke that indoor personal best last week at the Tyson Invitational with a jump of 15.83m.
