No. i think there is a high level of functional ignorance in today s house republican conference. but to your point is a great one, alicia. the entire premise of biden s candidacy and his election was a return to normalcy, a return to stability. and an end to the crazy. so in the absence of donald trump, mccarthy and house republicans are saying, hey, we will play that role now. we will disrupt world markets. we will jeopardize just the u. s. economic security, u.s. national security. because the economic knee capping of the country has national security and the geopolitical implications. i would say that the dirty little secret here that we are not yet talking about but we probably will be next week, when andrew suggests that any deal requires democratic votes, the flip side of that is any deal that mccarthy strikes with biden, he will not be able to deliver his conference to support. and this goes all the way back to this corrupt bargain mccarthy struck to become speaker. saying, hey ....
