UAE megaprojects 2021: new developments taking shape in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates

Arabian Construction Company wins contract to build first 300 villas on Abu Dhabi's Jubail Island


Jubal Island sits between Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island and Yas Island. The 45 million square metre island already contains a large mangrove park and the developer is also planning to add restaurants, a beach club, a business centre, sports facilities, schools, clinics, nurseries and a community centre. Eventually, homes for more than 5,000 residents will be built.
The 300 villas being built in the first phase will range in size from 1,300 to 6,000 square metres, containing between three and six bedrooms.
Arabian Construction Company has its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The contractor built a number of the emirate's landmarks including Etihad Towers, Gate Towers, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi.

Jubail Island Investment Company (JIIC) has awarded the construction contract for the first phase of 300 villas to Arabian Construction Company (ACC) in a move that will realise the dream of creating a luxury community at the heart of Abu Dhabi.
 
It is a landmark step towards bringing luxury living allied with pristine natural beauty to the heart of Abu Dhabi, managed by leading UAE master-developer LEAD.
 
A dream development, the AED5 billion ($1.36 billion) Jubail Island will be an idyllic collection of villages located between Yas Island and Saadiyat Island and will become Abu Dhabi's leading sanctuary designed to appeal to wellness and nature enthusiasts, positioned amid the rich biodiversity of the mangroves.

GMR, Adani among 9 in fray for Rs 6,500 cr New Delhi station revamp


NEW DELHI: Nine major players, including GMR Highways, Adani Railways and realtor Omaxe are in the fray for redevelopment of New Delhi railway station entailing an investment of around Rs 6,500 crore.
Along with the modernisation of Mumbai's Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), the capital's key station is among the most prominent asset monetisation and railway modernisation programme being undertaken by the Centre.
Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), which has been tasked to undertake the redevelopment, said BIF IV India Infrastructure Holding, ISQ Asia Infrastructure Investments, Anchorage Infrastructure Investments, Kalpataru Power Transmission, Arabian Construction Company and Elpis Ventures have also participated in the technical bidding for the station.

New Delhi Railway Station Redevelopment is a flagship project of the RLDA, and the first to be undertaken on the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) concept in Delhi-NCR.
The New Delhi Railway Station will be redeveloped into a world-class station in line with global standards with dome-shaped terminal buildings 
New Delhi: Nine major global and domestic companies including GMR Highways, Adani Railways and realtor Omaxe are in the race to bag the redevelopment project of New Delhi railway station entailing an investment of around Rs 6,500 crore.
Worth mentioning here is that Mumbai’s Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and the capital's main railway station are among the most prominent asset monetisation and railway modernisation programme being undertaken by the Centre.

Adani, GMR among others in fray for redeveloping New Delhi railway station


Arabian Construction Company, Adani Railways Transport, Kalpataru Power Transmission, GMR Highways, and Omaxe have expressed interest in redeveloping the New Delhi railway station.
A statement from the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) said that BIF IV India Infrastructure Holding (DIFC), ISQ Asia Infrastructure Investments, Anchorage Infrastructure Investments Holdings, and Elpis Ventures also participated in the Request for quotation (RFQ).
“These companies will now undergo technical evaluation. In the next stage RLDA will float the Request for Proposal (RFP) for selected participants who get qualified in the technical process,” the statement said.
“New Delhi Railway Station Redevelopment is a flagship project of the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), and the first to be undertaken on the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) concept in Delhi-NCR. It will incur a capital expenditure at around $680 million and will be developed on a Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer model. The Project offers multiple revenue streams to the developer, including revenue from real estate rights and is slated to be completed in around four years. The concession period is for 60 years,” the statement added.
