This encampment was set up in a very strange place. Reporter we have never seen a homeless encampment like this. First, access is difficult because the only way to get there is off the freeway. Its huge. Nestled in between interstate 880 and highway 87, it stretches more than a quarter mile along the sound wall encompassing nearly 20 acres. Crews say 40 to 50 people have scattered away and they are calling it the jungle part 2. This is the third day of the cleanup and caltrans has already removed 150 cubic yards of mattresses, shopping carts and appliances. The workers say they are nowhere close to being done. Some of the squatters are skilled electricians. Look closely and you can see the cut wires where they sliced into high voltage electrical lines stealing electricity to power ovens and refrigerators.
