Beloved father, husband, teacher and man of service, Frank Joseph Trione died February 16, 2021 at the age of 68. He is preceded in death by his parents Joby and Gladys Trione. He is survived by his wife Margaret and daughter Margaret Frances; brother Ben Trione; sisters Anne Trione (Wende) , Sara Trione and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Frank’s love of Daphne and Christ the King Church began with learning his family’s history in building both. His childhood, as well as his graduating from CKS, brought him many lifelong friends. Later in life, he served on the Christ the King Parish Council and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a man of faith and charity with a dedication to serving his community. He served as Daphne City Councilman and was on the Daphne Utility Board from 1980 – 1986. Frank was always a part of any Daphne celebration or charitable event. After graduating from Fairhope High School, he moved on to Faulkner State Community College, then to his beloved Auburn University where he received his BS in Agriculture and Education in 1974. Later he received his Masters and AA from Alabama A&M University. He loved Auburn football and was a member of the Baldwin County Auburn Club where he served as president for some years. Also, he served on the AU College of Agriculture Alumni Council and the Dean’s Advisory Council for the AU Harrison School of Pharmacy. He was a lifetime member of AU Alumni Association and College of Agriculture Alumni Association. As a young man, he went on to promote his interest in agriculture and education through teaching and community service. After teaching at Fairhope and Daphne High Schools and FSCC, he retired after 30 years. His humor, compassion and toughness won him the respect and love of many students. He was chosen Outstanding Secondary Teacher of the Year, Outstanding in the State Career/ Technical Educational Program and State Agriscience Teacher of the Year. He served as state president of Alabama Agriculture Teachers’ Association and VP of the National Vocational Agricultural Teachers’ Association. In 1993 he received the Honorary American Degree from the National FFA, the organization’s highest honor. He was inducted into the state of Alabama FFA Hall of Fame. He also served on the Baldwin County School Board. Love of agriculture, along with gifts of leadership and humor also won the hearts of many people in local and state organizations. He began his service as member of the Gulf Coast Resource Conservation and Development Council in 2002, serving as secretary for many years before moving to his current position of VP. In 2008, he began his service with the Baldwin County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors. He held various positions, including chairman (2019-present). He served on the Alabama Association District’s Standing Committee and as President of AACD Area VI. In 2015 he was named Area VI supervisor of the Year. Above all, he loved family. Frank, Margaret and Margaret Frances loved traveling, Disney World, attending Auburn games together, Mardi Gras fun and Trione family gatherings. Whatever the occasion; sad, serious or fun, Frank had a way of lifting the spirits of all around him. He was a blessing to family, friends and community. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 23 at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
