Man faces terrorism charges for planning attack on vaccination centre

Police have arrested a man who they say was planning to attack a coronavirus vaccination location with a firework bomb in the naval town of Den Helder.
The man, who is 37, comes from Den Helder himself and is suspected of planning a terrorist attack on the former town hall, which is now used as a vaccination centre, the public prosecution department said in a statement.
He was arrested on March 18 but the news has only just become public. Officials declined to say how far advanced his plans were.

Police and federal agents are investigating an explosion that took place on a small bridge in Bedford, a suburb of northern Texas located between Dallas and Fort Worth.
No one was hurt and officials believe the incident was not targeted. The explosion was heard by several locals nearby who called 911 immediately.
Police discovered another "suspicious item" when they arrived at the scene. The bridge was quickly closed to traffic and the item was "destroyed via a controlled detonation," according to police.
A male suspect "in connection with detonating an unknown explosive device" has been arrested, police said Thursday. His identity has not been released.

BRATISLAVA: Slovakia imposed an overnight curfew from Wednesday, the health ministry said, as the ex-communist country battles the world’s highest Covid mortality rate.
Slovaks will not be allowed out of their homes between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am, according to a government decree. During the day, Slovaks are being asked to stay in their homes with some exceptions, including medical visits, going to work and walks in nature or with pets.
The curfew applies until March 19 but may be extended. The EU country of 5.4 million has the world’s highest rate of Covid deaths, with 24 fatalities per 100,000 inhabitants over the last 14 days, according to an AFP tally.
