The fire was discovered at 2:17 p.m., on Friday. It’s located on Rattlesnake Point, not far from Cosens Bay and Turtles Head Point.
The RDNO said snowmelt is expected to accelerate into next week because of unseasonably high temperatures.
The city said it was opening its waterparks earlier this year than normal due to unseasonably hot temperatures this weekend.
“It isn’t worth someone’s life, or injury to anybody, just to get to your destination sooner.”
