The homegrown automaker is currently readying the CNG versions of its popular hatchback and subcompact sedan. And, the company has already initiated public road tests of the CNG-powered Tiago and Tigor. Both the test mules were captured on camera exclusively by us at CNG filling station near Lonavala. The Indian Government is observing its first-ever 'National Road Safety Month' this year, between January 18, 2021, and February 17, 2021. During this safety campaign, the World Bank on Saturday released a new report on road safety. According to a report from PTI, India which has one per cent of the world's vehicles accounts for 10 per cent of global road crash victims highlighted the World Bank report. Each year around 1.5 lakh people lose their lives in a road accident. Last month, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, said that the Indian roads witnessed 415 deaths per day in accidents, which was the highest in the world.

Petrol, Diesel Rates Hiked For Sixth Straight Day; Petrol Crosses Rs. 95/Litre Mark In Mumbai

In the last six days, fuel prices have gone up by ₹ 1.8 per litre and ₹ 1.88 per litre for petrol and diesel respectively. With the continuous revision in fuel rates, petrol prices on Sunday breached ₹ 95-mark and diesel too surpassed ₹ 86-mark in Mumbai. Customers in Mumbai will now have to pay ₹ 95.21 per litre for one-litre petrol and for diesel they will have to shell out ₹ 86.06 for a litre. The fuel rates have been hiked for the sixth straight day which came into effect from 6 am today.
The retail price of petrol in Kolkata went up by 28 paise to ₹ 90.01 per litre from ₹ 89.73 per litre and diesel retails at ₹ 82.65 per litre. In Chennai and Bengaluru, petrol retailed at ₹ 90.96 and ₹ 91.70 respectively. On the other hand, diesel retailed at ₹ 84.16 in Chennai and ₹ 83.81 in Bengaluru.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) today issued a notification stating that FASTag will be mandatory from tomorrow midnight. Moreover, all lanes in the fee plazas on National Highways shall be declared as 'FASTag lane of the fee plaza' effective from midnight of 15th/16th February 2021. As per National Highway Fee Rules 2008, any vehicle not fitted with FASTag or vehicle without valid, functional FASTag entering into the FASTag lane of the fee plaza shall pay a fee equivalent to two times the fee applicable to that particular category.
