Im delighted to convene this annual hearing to assess the art of alzheimers, from preventingm cognitive decline to ensuringo quality care for those living with dementia. Its always so inspiring to sit here and look out at betsy a purple. But its also a reminder that this terrible disease has affected each and every one of you in a personal way. One of the things to note on the impact, too, is we are finding that athletes are now failing the impact test on purpose so that their baseline is now lower to start out with. So that if in fact the concussion occurs, they dont have to get back to what truly is their normal baseline. But one that has been fabricated because of choices theyve made during the testtaking. So this is about changing the nature of this injury as well. And really getting people to care about their brains so that they dont make choices like that. And in this case, you mean, that that enables them to get back out on the field. Correct. It takes it takes their baseline and lowers it.
