Her research five years ago into what books were included in similar shows revealed there had been “no exhibition that illuminates the power of the picture book medium as a lens into the Civil Rights Movement.” This surprised her as did how relevant the content would be when the exhibit, organized by the Carle and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, debuted in August at the Georgia museum. ....
