Jo Ann McClellan The Maury County African American Heritage Society will host speaker Dr. Morgan Hines as part of its “The World of Sports” lecture series at 10 a.m. on July 24 at Maury County Archives, 201 East 6th St. in Columbia. Hines is a trainer, coach and has been a promoter for boxers in Columbia for 46 years. Former boxers Aholu Pillow, Jerome Pillow and Sammy Sparkman will also be present to participate in the discussion. Aholu Pillow was an amateur boxer, and assistant coach, turned fashion model, who has appeared on the cover of Iconique Magazine. Jerome Pillow is a former undefeated professional fighter with a 14-0 record with 8 knockouts. He currently serves as a senior coach with the Columbia Boxing Club. ....
