Weymouth Council approves money to take down incinerator

WEYMOUTH – The town council has approved taking down an old trash incinerator plant using nearly $1 million of the money from the energy company that owns the natural gas compressor station on the banks of the Fore River. Mayor Robert Hedlund requested $940,000 to remove the 19,700-square-foot incinerator on Wharf Street. The town council approved the request this week.
